Personal History Fisher was the fourth child born to Shepherd and Loom Mencowicz, generational colonists on New Haven. Born ten years after their third son, Fisher was unexpected and born to older parents. As a child he presented as fussy but also disinclined to interact with his parents or siblings. As he aged, he was considered to be 'slow' as he didn't meet age expectations in walking, talking or almost any other aspect.

As a post warp 1 colony founded by religious fundamentalists, New Haven wasn't inclined to keep up with the latest technology so it was years before anyone thought to have Fisher examined. His parents, braced to learn their child was intellectually disabled, were told he was the opposite - his intelligence was remarkable for a child his age. Along with his other behaviors, he was determined to be on the spectrum.

Because of his age, treatment was sketchy at best. It didn't seem to have much effect and the Mencowicz family would have to learn to adapt to his condition while trying to help him adapt to the world around him.

His intelligence continued to amaze as he proved to understand theories and concepts far outside his age group. His family came to understand one of his quirks was to try to order things, no matter the system. He also took to mythology quickly (and it was their shame that he seemed to reject their actual religious beliefs) starting with Greek. Greek mythology continued to be his standard as he grew.

The local schools posed no challenge for him so his parents enrolled him in a home school provided by the Federation for gifted children. He advanced quickly in the sciences, history and math but struggled in social curriculum. Soon he was on the same grade level as his next older brother but would quickly surpass him.

At the age of sixteen he first tested for Starfleet, recognizing the quasi-military organization as an ordered, limited and regimented life. He excelled in most testing, but failed miserably in those tests that required interaction with others. Because of this, and his age, he was not accepted to the Academy. He would test twice more before finally becoming accepted.

He attended the Academy, focusing on resource management. He struggled, still, with social aspects of Academy life. Here, he did discover holotechnology and glommed onto it as ferociously as he did coffee.

The discovery of coffee helped him to better organize his thoughts giving them depth and curves and dimensions other than just being 'flat'. It also helped to slow down his thoughts to a level that others could finally, if not barely, understand him.

Like his previous schooling, he once again excelled and graduated sooner than expected.

He found himself posted to the logistics department of Starbase 5. It was upon his (much delayed) promotion to Ltjg that he was moved to Outpost 100 before being moved as the Logistics Officer for the under construction Faltan Station, posted there as construction began.
