Personality & Traits
General Overview | T'lenn follows the teachings of Surak, so she can seem emotionless and cold compared to humans and many other species, deferring to logic. However, she has come to appreciate the value in friendship and companionship with her peers over the 17 years she has spent in Starfleet. She attends social functions, and has learned to keep her "Vulcan observations" silent except when with close confidants.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: excellent memory - both working and long term, dedicated to her job, willing and able to devote long hours, loya, physicaly fit, stealthy, brings a logical perspective to discussions Weaknesses: Can have difficulty understanding when those act on emotional impulses and be judgmental when people do so. Her hyperfocus can cause her to seem antisocial |
|
Ambitions | Leadership position at Starfleet Intelligence Headquarters - eventually, not anytime soon. She "enjoys" field work too much at the moment.
Hobbies & Interests | martial arts, meditation, music, chess |
Personal History | T'lenn was born on Vulcan to a traditional Vulcan family and has one brother. Her parents and grandparents urged her to go into the Vulcan Science Academy and to serve for one of the many divisions under the Vulcan High Command that would afford her similar opportunities for space exploration, but they were supportive once she had made it clear that her mind was set on Starfleet. As a child she embraced the teachings of Surak, and did not rebel against the training and meditation exercises meant to help Vulcans purge and suppress emotions as they enter adolescence and into adulthood. With the ever changing landscape of the Alpha quadrant and now the emergence of more interactions with other quadrants, T'lenn felt that Starfleet was a logical choice for her. She knew that the Vulcan High Council would be more likely to take a backseat as more worlds exposed themselves to to the Federation, yet still try to govern what decisions the Federation made. Always thirsting for knowledge and never wanting to be on the outside of anything, part of T'lenn's decision to join Starfleet was so that she could be part of the frontlines of this ever changing landscape. She is still close with her family. Her brother remained on Vulcan and is a professor at the Vulcan Science Institute. T'lenn does return home from time to time for important events. Howeever it has not been as much as would normally be expected due to some extended assignments that she could not take leave from. This has caused some strain. |
