Rank Commander

Character Information

Gender Female
Species Human/Orion
Age 29

Physical Appearance

Height 5'2"
Weight 134 lbs

Physical Description Abigail stands a mere five foot two inches tall and weighs in at 134 pounds. She has an athletic build from years of playing sports, dancing, and working hard to maintain a slim muscular profile. Her skin is a pale green, which earned her the nickname of “Mint” during high school. Her black hair is kept shoulder length and she likes to add coloured highlights, changing the colour every few months. Her bright blue eyes are used to her advantage, making her seem sweet and innocent when she does her ‘doe eyed’ look.

Abigail has a cherry blossom tree tattooed onto her left side. The trunk spans from her hip up toward her armpit. Branches span across her back to her spine and across her front to just past her left breast. Her mother’s initials, along with her dates of birth and death are ‘carved’ into the trunk. A lone owl sits upon the branches closest to her heart; it wears a tag with her mother’s initials. An emerald snake is depicted slithering across a branch just below her breast, looking as though it is ready to strike the owl, it is meant to signify her biological father, and how lowly she thinks of him. A hawk is depicted as swooping in from her right upper chest toward the snake. The hawk has an Engineering emblem in it’s feather colouration on its back and a tag on its leg with her adoptive father’s initials.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Despite her different appearance, Abigail was well liked by her peers during her primary school days. She was highly intelligent, but never flaunted this aspect of herself, tending to focus on her athletic abilities and dance. All her teachers and coaches describe Abigail as mature for her age, outgoing, and that something about her always endeared them to her. She was never seen as power hungry or ambitious, though she did tend to move up grades quickly and always had a goal she was working toward.

Her Academy peers, however, held prejudices against her because of her Orion half, and tormented her with rumours throughout her studies. The torment followed her throughout the universe, as she moved to ships full of former classmates. Despite this and having fairly recently lost her mother, Abigail is still a friendly and outgoing person. She tries to see the best in others and never promotes any rumours she hears, nor does she start any. She always tries to say something nice to everyone, giving them praise and encouraging them to keep learning and reaching for the stars.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths – Intelligent, friendly, goal-oriented, organized, positive, encouraging, and loyal. She excels in the fields of Engineering and Science, often combining her two loves in a single project.

Weaknesses – Goal-oriented. Abigail sometimes has a one-track mind, which causes trouble when her other duties fall by the wayside in order to complete a single goal. Her Orion genetics lend some issues toward her sexual nature, perceived and actual. She suffers from typical Orion ‘heat cycles’. She tends to feel wounded by other’s perception of her, though she tries hard not to show it.
Ambitions Abigail’s ambitions tend to change frequently. However, her current ambition is to get Faltan station up and running faster than the projected timeline; to make it the most successful planetary station Starfleet has; and to establish a stable working relationship and economy with the Faltan people.
Hobbies & Interests Abigail’s hobbies include baseball, football (also known as soccer), gymnastics, ballet, ballroom dance, Latin dance, mountain climbing, parkour, and surfing. She enjoys tinkering in her workshop and feels comfortable sitting in a lab as well.

Her interests include astronomy, cryptology, mechanical engineering, creative writing, quilting, cross stitch, painting, music (all except jazz and screech-metal), sword making, sword play, beekeeping, gardening, anything to do with the paranormal, vehicle restoration, collecting anything to do with owls and hawks.

Personal History Abigail Constance Prescott may have a normal Human sounding name, but she is far from your typical Human. She is half Orion, which she detests. She is quick to point out that she was raised by her human mother and has nothing to do with the Orions.

Her mother, Constance “Connie” Elaine Edwards was captured at the tender age of 16 by an Orion slaver, along with several other people travelling via shuttle from their home colony to a new mining station in a nearby asteroid belt. The mercenaries sent to protect them evacuated those they deemed the strongest and left the rest behind as a distraction for the slavers. Most of her fellows were sold as slaves, but Connie was deemed unfit to be a slave as she was weak and not very attractive. The Orion pirates decided to have ‘fun’ with the girl, and for the next two years, Connie found herself the personal property of several Orions, both male and female, the last of which was a male Connie only knew as Razo.

In late 2359, the USS Alexander stumbled upon the Orion pirate ship and launched a viscous assault. They rescued fourteen potential slaves along with a heavily pregnant Connie. All Orion slavers aboard the pirate ship were killed during the skirmish, much to Connie’s relief. The former captives were given quarters until the Alexander could reach the nearest starbase. During the two-year voyage, one of the engineering officers, Lieutenant Junior Grade Hawthorne “Hawke” Prescott, took a liking to Connie, helping her through the final months of her pregnancy, ensuring she got proper counselling on top of her medical care, and helping to raise Abigail. Eventually, the pair began dating.

In 2361, just before they reached the starbase, Connie and Hawke were wed in a small ceremony on the Alexander. The Captain allowed Connie and her daughter Abigail to stay aboard. Shortly after their marriage, knowing that her father was deceased, Hawke adopted the young, half-Orion daughter he’d helped raise.

Grateful to those that rescued her, and at the insistence of Hawke, Connie enrolled in Starfleet Academy and was able to complete some of her courses remotely while they travelled. After her ordeal, she had a fierce desire to protect young girls like her, those deemed to weak to warrant protecting, those that were left to die. Due to this, she chose to go into security. She begged the Chief Security Officer to let her train with her officers, to teach her how to be strong like her. Unfortunately, the day she was to start training, Connie fell ill. It was discovered that she was pregnant with twins, and so was banned from the physically demanding training.

When the Alexander reached the starbase, Hawke had a difficult decision to make. Did he risk Connie’s potential career in Starfleet and keep them on the Alexander, or did he risk his own career for her? In the end, Hawke decided Connie’s happiness, as well as that of their children, was more important than his career, and he moved the family to Earth. He took a posting with Starfleet Headquarter’s Engineering Division that allowed him to work opposite to Connie’s school schedule, ensuring one of them was always home with the children.

Shortly after their arrival on Earth, Connie gave birth to paternal twins, one boy, one girl. They named them Kennedy George and Frances Elaine, after their parents, Kennedy and Elaine Prescott, and George and Frances Edwards. Abigail adored her baby siblings and was thrilled that they got to live on Earth together.

Growing up, Abigail knew she was different from the other kids in her school but didn’t initially know why. For one, she had pale green skin and brilliant blue eyes, and for two she seemed to fly through their schoolwork, finding it much too simple for her. When she was seven, she learned of a much more significant difference. She didn’t go through puberty like her teachers said they would. No, instead she became very interested in boys, and they her. She didn’t understand why the boys seemed to follow her around, nor why some of her female classmates began hating her.

When she came home one day, crying about one of the older boys ‘attacking’ her and touching her inappropriately, she finally learned of her Orion heritage. Her parents took her to several doctors in an attempt to save her from the frustrations of the heat cycles. Nothing worked, though they learned the pheromone levels Abigail had during her heat were much less than a full Orion female typically had. It was suggested that she be homeschooled during her cycles until she could learn to control her pheromones. Additionally, Connie and Hawke begged Starfleet to find an Orion female willing to teach Abigail anything that could help her control the pheromones and her sexual appetite, which was growing with each year.

Once her peers learned of the pheromones and how Abigail couldn’t control them yet, they fully supported her. Communicating often through video calls when Abigail couldn’t come to school and working with her to find a solution that would allow her to continue normally. She even dated a few boys, though not all at the same time. One of these boyfriends, she doesn’t remember which, started calling her Mint because of her skin tone, and the name stuck. Though, being homeschooled allowed Abigail to work farther ahead than her peers. She also completed courses during the summer and graduated from high school at 15.

She decided to take a year off to explore herself, much to her parents dismay. She left home and travelled across the country, learning all she could of life and her budding sexuality. When she returned home, Abigail had mastered her pheromones and was able to diminish the effects of her heat cycle. Her year off turned into two, as she was thoroughly enjoying her ‘explorations’, though she would never fully admit to what that entailed when she got home, especially to her siblings, who were still impressionable 15-year-olds.

At 17, she took the Starfleet Academy entrance exam and passed. She decided to be an engineer, just like her father, though she also took some extra science courses during her summers. Unfortunately, her peers at the Academy weren’t as accepting as those from her primary school days. It was during her second year that Abigail started to gain a reputation for sleeping around. Rumours of affairs with teachers for her exceptional grades flew through the school, though all teachers vehemently denied having any physical contact with their pupil.

When they reached 18, the twins also enrolled in Starfleet Academy. They enjoyed one year with their sister, though were utterly dismayed by the rumours going around about her. Eventually during this shared year, the rumours got so bad the Academy secretly investigated both Abigail and her teachers. They found no evidence that any of them were being inappropriate. And official cease and desist letter was sent to each and every pupil and staff member regarding the allegations of sexual misconduct, though no names were given to protect Abigail and staff.

During this same year, her parents both took positions on the USS Napoleon, now childfree and mourning their empty home. After graduation, Abigail was assigned to the USS Gregarious, where she worked diligently for two years. Shortly after being promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade, the Gregarious was heavily damaged in a skirmish. Abigail was transferred to the USS Alexander where she worked with many of the crew that knew her as a baby. While they definitely had a soft spot for her, they also had very high standards for her to meet. She excelled under their challenges and made Lieutenant a full year early.

Another transfer, this time to the USS Nimitz where the crew ended up being full of her peers from the Academy. Many of whom were happy to start the rumour mill up again. Things got worse after she seemingly bypassed two engineers to become Assistant Chief Engineering Officer. No one cared that both had turned down the position, and both were happy to accept bribes to keep their mouths shut. Despite having control over her pheromones, it seemed they still caused hatred and jealousy from the female crew.

When Abigail earned a promotion to Lieutenant Commander on schedule, the teasing was relentless about how she hadn’t used her body to gain a promotion this time. Then it switched gears again when she moved to Chief Engineering Officer after her predecessor retired early. To the jealous crew mates, he didn’t retire because of a debilitating illness that could only be treated, at length, back on Earth. No, they believed that was a cover story and that Abigail had used her body to convince him to retire and give her the ‘power’. No one really believed her to be ambitious or power hungry, but they went along with the rumours.

Shortly after her promotion to Chief Engineering Officer, Abigail received word that her mother had been killed during an away mission. Devastated, Abigail returned home for her funeral and decided that if her comrades wouldn’t cease the torment, she would move on. Shortly after she returned to the Nimitz the rumours starting flying again, especially after an early promotion to Commander.

Abigail admitted she could take no more and requested a transfer. However, the only place she could go where her former classmates hadn’t already tainted the situation, was to help revive a station she’d never heard of. She jumped at the chance to make a difference somewhere and relished the newfound freedom being away from her tormentors gave her. She was excited to start a new life at Faltan Station and hoped her reputation wouldn’t precede her.
