What a beautiful evening..

3,252 words; about a 16 minute read

Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Location: Lieutenant Tendai residents
Timeline: MD10 - 2310

The day was a long dragging and tiring day, everything that had happened so far was tiring in general. The house of Catrine was a bit messy, but the woman had been working around the clock and been sleeping at the office. Sarah smiled looking at some pictures "Well ..at least you got some good memories" She whispers to herself as she moved towards the balcony and leans forward on it as she looked up to the stars and waited for Cat to come home.

Between her meeting with Rai'z, her meeting with the Captain, and finalizing reports, Catrina was glad that she for once had a full night off and could spend it in her quarters. Her plan was to relax and not deal with any more reports until the morning. She was pulling her hair out of the ponytail as she stepped into her quarters. Her eyes immediately shot over to her balcony and she froze. Who the hell... She didn't say anything but just stared at whoever it was.

Letting the moment fall to silence as Sarah turned her head towards the direction of Cat and gave her a soft smile "Catrina...I do hope I am not bothering you at this time? I ..guess wanted to see you again" She shrugs a bit and looked back to the station is quiet at this time of night. Sarah did not quite know why she showed up at her doorstep and ...broke in.

Cat let out a heavy sigh, assuming she was there to admire a view she didn't get to have while out on her missions. She also assumed that Sarah was here in holographic form, as she always made sure she had projectors in case she wanted to test things. Tossing the hair tie on her desk, she went over to the balcony and joined Sarah there. "It's alright, Sarah. Just didn't expect anyone here. Hell, I haven't been here except my first day other than to change uniforms."

"Ahh, that is what I smell..." She joked and smiled softly and yet did not look at her "You are doing great work here Cat, the base is getting some life back and it is mostly thanks to your efforts" Sarah said, it was true that Sarah was impressed by what she was seeing, the base was operating way better than when she left with her wagon to begin her operations in the field.

Smirking, Cat nudged Sarah with her arm. "Not funny," she said softly as she looked out over everything. "You know, I haven't really been outside even since I got here. Never got to look at all of this." She looked over at Sarah, "Thanks, by the way, not just for the talk before either. But for what you just said."

Sarah looked back at her and smiled softly once again "It is the truth Cat, I am as much for you here as you are for me..well I hope" Sarah said and looked back at the desert in the distant "It is not so pretty out there, people are suffering and it is getting difficult to confront my old pass" She shrugs at that and thought for a moment "Just need to escape that scenery for a moment"

"Can't blame you. Don't think I could do it out there, not as long as it sounds like you have all been out there." Cat shook her head, "And I don't mind you being here. Surprised me, I suppose. Didn't think anyone knew the frequency I used for my stuff here, but then again, you're good at what you do."

Blinking at that comment, Sarah looked at Cat and moved closer to her "Getting your frequency is indeed easy to get, but ...what is the fun in that" She kissed Cat cheek and whispers in her ear "When I am actually here and not in the field?" She backs off and giggles a bit "I am here to give Commander Prescott an update on my field operations, the communications has been in check so I needed to travel on my own"

Putting her hand to her cheek where Sarah had kissed it, it took Cat a moment to let the words play in her head. Her eyes then went wide, finally realizing what it meant. "You mean you're..you're actually here? You're not a hologram?" She was tempted to go see if her emitters were online, but knew that would probably look bad. Instead, she put a hand up to Sarah's cheek, trying to see if she could tell for sure that the woman in front of her was actually there.

The warmt of her cheeks was felt onto Cat hand as Sarah placed her head more against Cat's hand "I am really here, just for you as I promised" She looks a bit away "Oh right...I should have given you a headsup when I did come over to get you...mentally prepared for it, oops?" Sarah grin a bit and wonders what Cat would be doing now to her.

Cat shook her head, "No, it...it's okay." She pulled her hand away slowly, not really sure what to think. "Just a little surprised is all. I um..I'd say make yourself at home but, I think you already did that?" Her mind was running around in circles, and she was just sort of standing there.

"Mmm, you really should change that password, its kinda obvious," Sarah said a bit teasing and looked again towards the desert "But yea, I do feel home and now that I am standing here with you...I can say for sure, I am home" Sarah said with a bright smile "What did you do to me Cat..." She mutters and looked up at the stars

Finally shaking herself from her thoughts, Cat didn't comment on the subject of the password. She'd deal with that part later. She let her eyes follow where Sarah's went and looked at the stars as well. "I..I don't know," she said softly. Inside, she was shaking, nervous and scare just as she always was. But she was doing her best to not let it come out, as she was trying to get past it still. She let the words of standing here with you...I am home roll around in her head.

"I know...you are scared" Letting a sign-out and Sarah let her head hang down again "If you want me to leave, I can totally understand that. it is not my intention to make you...scared of me" Looking at her side towards the confuse Cat "I ...guess I got no rights to press my feelings upon you"

"It's not that, Sarah," Cat said with a sigh as she stepped away from the balcony, back to her quarters slowly. "The only reason I get nervous like this is..well..if I have some type of feelings of my own. Very few people know me all that well, especially out here. But with you," she looked back to Sarah as she sat down on her loveseat, "you already know, some of it through your own means, some of it is what I told you the other night. It's hard for me to open up, get comfortable with anyone. And here I am, talking to you like it's nothing. But inside I'm..." She shook her head and looked down at her hands. Her mind was running in circles again. She'd managed to have a conversation with someone else she felt like she fancied as well: the science chief. That one she kept buried away from Sarah, as right now, only Sarah was here.

Walking towards the door opening of her quarters and leans against it "I.... am sorry that I got my nose into a business I should not look into. Most of what I do is in name of the safety for Starfleet. But the past ten days were nuts to speak the least about it" She spoke and shrugs and bites her lower lip a bit "I am getting hunted down by my own guilt, sorrow, and past. Yet here I am, trying to find some form of comfort...safety and love" She bolds her first "Maybe...it was ... my mistake to barge into here..." Sarah was confused, her heart was racing and yet she was running away from this again.

Cat looked up to Sarah after she stopped speaking. "It wasn't a mistake, Sarah. Everyone deserves it." She got up and slowly walked towards her. "And it does help to have someone who understands, who won't judge me for what happened in my past. Hell, I've had people tell me I deserved it..." Stopping right in front of Sarah, she let her hand lay upon her cheek again. Except for this time, it wasn't shaking, whereas before it had been just slightly.

Letting her hand slide over Sarah's cheek as her eyes began to water up as tears rolled over her cheeks "I...I did so many wrong choices, so many suffering and I ...told my self for a long time that I don't deserve anyone" She placed her hand on Cat cheek "But the somehow...my heart is beating again, feeling again when...you first summon me. I did not know what to do....what to say"

Using her thumb to wipe away the tears, Catrina listened and choked back her own tears. She shook her head, not sure how to answer the last part. So instead, she went for the first part. "You deserve someone as much as anyone does. Doesn't matter what you've done." She leaned her head into Sarah's hand gently.

Placing her head against that of Cat gently as she closed her eyes and let her hand slide to Cat's neck "Thank you for saying that, it has been so long that anyone valued me, even though you don't know the real me. I have killed people, sent people to their deaths, made poor choices from the Dominion War till now" Sarah lets the tears roll and her emotions out for the first time in more than 12 years "You are so gentle, warm and kind....would I even deserve you?"

Cat shook her head, "I'd never hold any of that over you. I may be an engineer, but that isn't to say that I haven't done the same. I'm still a Starfleet officer," she said softly as she wiped more of the tears away. She held the words in for a moment, as she'd never once said them to anyone except one person, and that hadn't turned out so well. But... "I'm..I'm willing to..." She shook her head, the words were all mixed up, and her head was trying to play tricks on her again. Her heart started to race faster than it had, small bits of fear again trying to creep in. She took a shaky breath, and closed her eyes, trying to formulate the words.

Seeing how Cat was struggling with these new developing emotions as Sarah lowered her head a bit and looked at her, her lips were shaking and she placed her hand behind Cat neck as she softly pulled her closer to her. If she did not want this, she could always stop her, but Sarah thought this was the best thing for her to do. Help Catrina with her fear and at the same time conform her own feelings, and maybe hers as well.

Her mind told her to run away from what was happening. But she kept telling herself that she was trying to stop the fears, the fears that she'd held onto for so many years. Cat's mind was playing with her again, but she didn't shy away. That wasn't to say she wasn't shaking, because she was. But she didn't want to be afraid anymore, it wasn't doing her any good. She finally looked back to Sarah, letting her eyes met the ones of the woman there.

Their eyes meet each other as Sarah's eyes finally showed true happiness as their lips touched each other so gentle and Sarah could feel the warmth from Cat flowing in her as she placed her other arm around her to stop the shaking as comfort feeling spreading through their bodies.

Catrina's eyes closed as Sarah's lips hit her own. It'd been so long since she'd felt this, and at first she was afraid. It took everything in her power to not pull away and go hide. Though still shaking, she realized how much Sarah's arm being around her was helping. Almost on instinct, her arms slowly made their way around Sarah's neck, not pulling herself away from the gentle kiss.

Letting the moment last a few more seconds as Sarah lips lets go of Cat's and she slowly opens her eyes "Well that went better then I expected..." Sarah smiled and gave her a short soft kiss again "But I can't get enough of you that s for sure" Sarah replied trying to understand what just happened, she just kissed a person for the first time in 13 years and not regretting it one bit "Thank you...for being you"

Cat's breathing had slowed, she didn't feel as panicked as she had a moment before. Her heart was still racing, but it felt different. She returned the second kiss and then looked back into Sarah's eyes as she bit her lip. She allowed her forehead to rest against Sarah's as she let out a very soft sigh. "I..expected myself to run away..."

Slowly nodding to that and still smiling "Why did you not run away? What was different?" Sarah asked curious of why Cat did not return do what her gut feeling was screaming at her. Maybe Sarah really did touch her as she realizes that she was looking a bit surprised "Is it...because of me?"

"I'm not sure. It's been a long time since I've ever let anyone get close to me. I wish I could explain it." Cat ran a finger gently along Sarah's cheek. "And I've never had any feelings about any woman before...other than friends. I just..I didn't want to run. My mind did but, I didn't."

With that said, Sarah felt touched so deep she kissed her more passioned and placed her hands through Cat's hair letting her breathing become heavier "Thank you so much for saying that...for not running from me" Sarah had a hard time letting her tears not run again as she felt so happy that someone was actually accepting her. Even though she confirmed it already, this woman saying it made her feel so good "Do....do ...you mind ...if I stay with you tonight?"

Cat was taken back by the more passionate kiss. But again, she didn't run, and returned it. Her hand smoothed over Sarah's hair as she spoke again. Her heart began to race again at the question, she bit her lip once more. Her mind had gone completely blank, and she couldn't even get any words out. Instead, trying to push herself further out of her own comfort zone, she pressed her lips against Sarah's again and started to move Sarah backwards towards the couch. Although gently, there was more meaning behind it.

Letting herself be pushed back as she suddenly dropped to the couch and let Cat fall upon herself as she let the kiss continue as Sarah wraps her arms around her to slide over Cat's body. She felt alive, felt whole and warm after so long time of being alone. Sarah kept kissing her with passion, everything she got as she pulled off her jacket and helped Cat to undo hers.

Something was coming over her, something she hadn't felt..well..ever. Her fear was being buried away, and she wasn't going to fight it. She let her jacket be undone and then slipped off. She pulled her lips away from Sarah's, looking back into her eyes. "Sarah...I've..I've never..." she stated in a whisper, but her lips were drawn quickly back to Sarah's.

Their lips meet each other again as Sarah could taste the purity of Cat and smiled as she pulled her lips away “Don’t worry, I will never hurt you. I will... really will love you” Sarah blinked a few times feeling she was blushing and didn’t believe she actually just said it. Her eyes felt drawn to those of Cat’s and she kissed her neck placing her on the side so she could easily get to her neck.

Catrina's eyes went wide as she heard the words. She saw Sarah's face go red and ran a hand along her cheek. "I never thought you'd hurt me, Sarah. As scared as my mind is telling me to be with all of this, and with the fact that that'll be the first time..with a woman...and the first time since..you know..." She felt a shiver go down her spine as Sarah kissed her neck. She couldn't get any more words out, except for a few. A few she never thought would cross her lips. "The..uh..the bed has more room than...than the couch..."

Stopping with her kissing as Sarah grinned at those words and kissed her cheek “the question is now more, can we reach that comfy bed?” She winked at her and kissed her with passion and pushed her against the couch to get on her feet. Sarah smiled standing before her as she pulled off her shirt. Sarah looked a bit embarrassed and tried to cover all her scars on her bod and blushed.

Cat giggled as she was pushed into the couch just for a moment. Once Sarah had stood up, she sat on the couch and grinned. "I think we can," she said as she stood and walked over close to Sarah, fingers tracing down one of the scars. "You don't have to hide them," she whispered as she pulled off her own shirt, her own scars from her attack years ago still remaining. She wasn't one to show her body in this way, ever..let alone the scars that she didn't let anyone heal.

Seeing her scars as Sarah lets her arms go as she lets her fingers slide over her skin”You are so beautiful, so soft...” Sarah placed her hand into that of Cat’s and pulls her to the bedroom “Don’t worry, I will gentle with your first time” Sarah pulled her to herself and Just hugged letting the warmth cover them both as she lets herself fall onto the bed with Cat in her arms.

Letting herself be pulled back towards the bedroom, Catrina let everything else override her fears. They were still there and trying to find their way out. But she couldn't let them. She knew what it was that she wanted. "I trust you," she finally whispered as she let herself lay down next to Sarah on the bed, her lips returning to Sarah's with a desire she'd not shown before now.

With those magical words spoke that trust was with them both, Sarah leans forward began to kiss her with passion as she slowly started to kiss downwards over her breast, belly and legs, letting her hands slide down with her. The night was indeed going to be interesting for them both as the light went out in Cat's apartment.
