Mission: Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Hangar Bay, Faltan Station
Timeline: MD01 - 1300 Hours

Paloma was pleased to finally be off the transport and have some fresh air in hers and her sons lunges. The air always tasted funny on Commerical transports. Was probably the Captain’s way of getting people off quickly. He glanced around the hangar looking for one particular person who she was told could help her. Thankfully her baby had been good on the two and a half day journey from Earth. Although he probably didn’t agree. With baby in one arm, the baby bag over her other shoulder and a bag of her belongings being pulled along behind her she made a beeline for the officer. “Excuse me, I’ve been told you can help me?”

M'Mira had her nose buried in her PADD, trying to make all the appropriate arrangements when her thoughts were interrupted by a woman holding a baby. "And you arrre?" M'Mira asked. Her tail swished from side to side and then stood outwardly straight with M'Mira's sudden recognition. "Oh, my apologies! You arrre the Captain's daughterrr! I should have rrrecognized you immediately. I am embarrrrrassed. Yes, I can help you," M'Mira affirmed. "I am Commanderrr M'Mirrra, Chief Operrrations Officerrr and Hostess Extrrrraorrrdinairrre for Faltan Station." She gave a short laugh before continuing. "How may I be of assistance?"

She gave a weak smile, “It’s a pleasure. I’m here to surprise my father but need somewhere to dump my belongings and get Junior here a change of clothes. Can you point me in the direction of my accommodation?” She asked politely but obviously tired from her travels.

"Absolutely," M'Mira responded with a smile. "Would you like me to carrrrry any of your things, so you can concentrate on yourrr baby?" She started punching on a PADD and said, "Ahhhh. And I have just the place for you. Quieterrr arrrea of Building 1, Deck 1 so you yourrr baby can sleep easierrrr."

“Thanks, that would be great.” Paloma replied as she gave her main bag to the Commander. “Who’d have thought traveling with a baby could be so exhausting,” she commented.

M'Mira lifted the bag and slung the strap over her shoulder. "I would not know," M'Mira confided. "I have not yet found a worrrthy male to mate with to make childrrren." Having said that, she looked around and wondered aloud, "Do you not have your mate with you?" Her voice became more growling in tone. "He should be doing this." Her voice cheered, "Not that I mind assisting." She started leading the way, all the while looking at the Captain's grandchild.

Paloma smiled, “My husband is also a serving member of Starfleet. He’ll be here when the USS Medway arrives tomorrow. Thank you for your assistance. This one has been grumpy since we left home, I don’t think he likes to travel.”

"You are verrry welcome." She looked at the baby and started making faces at it as they walked. Her voice became higher in pitch, "Hello cutie. How are you, huh? Tirred, huh? Cootchey cootchey coo." Turning back to Paloma, she sighed. "So cute. I am beginning to believe I will neverrr have one."

“You can have this one if you like.” Paloma said with a weak smile. “I suppose you don’t get much chance to meet many of your own people in Starfleet?” She asked as she followed the Caitian.

M'Mira shrugged. "Therrre arrre many of us in Starrrfleet. Some notable Admirrrals," she said proudly. "But, we arrre a minorrrity. It seems that a majorrrity of the fleet is human," she said sighing. However, she quickly corrected any misconceptions by continuing, "not that therrre is anything wrong with that."

She took her eyes off the baby and Paloma to continue their walk when she suddenly stated, "Besides, I am rrratherrr stuck on my carrreerrrr and I think that I am a bit picky."

Paloma smiled, “Nothing wrong with being picky. You need to find the right mate for you. You’re a pretty girl, I’m sure someone will snap you up.”

"I don't need snapping up," M'Mira said laughing. "I'm quite capable on my own; but, it would be nice to have someone who knew how to take care of me."

Paloma nodded as they continued to walk. “How has my father been? Since the shooting I mean?”

"He seems well. Therrre seems to be a sprrring in his step. I am a bit surrrprrrised that his mood is not morrre disturrrbed. As farrr as I know, he has not seen a counselorrr." She shrugged. "Does that answerrr yourrr question?"

“I thought as much. He’s pushing what happened to the back of his mind and not dealing with it.” She replied as she hauled Junior up again as he was slipping a little. “Has he seemed different since it happened?”

M'Mira considered Paloma's question. "Weeeelllllllllllll," M'Mira drawled. "Most notably, he did not get me a White Rrrussian with extrrra crrream in ourrr brrriefing this morrrning. And herrre I complimented him on how well he had done it beforrre." She gave a small frown thinking on the memory.

Paloma gave the Commander an unimpressed look. “He was probably not expecting to be a server when he took command of this station.”

"Do we not all live to serrrve? Is that not the meaning of being in the serrrvice? We exist to imprrrove ourrr clan, the Federrration, no?"

“Serve, yes. Be a server, no.” Paloma said with a smirk, as she continued to follow the Caitian. ’Where is this Room?’ she thought to herself.

M'Mira did not acknowledge the difference between serving and server. Instead, she stalked the corridors until she said, "Ah, herrre we arrre." She opened the door and allowed Paloma to enter first. "Is therrre anything that I could get you to make yourrr stay morrre comforrrtable?"

Paloma glanced around the quarters, “Wow, these are nice. Thank you for your assistance, Commander. I’m sure I’ll see you around.”

“Just let me know if therrre’s anything you need. I’ll have it brrrought to you or brrring it myself.” She placed the bags down near the bed and waited for any response before leaving.

“Thank you for your help, Commander. You’ve been a saviour!” Paloma said with a smile as she placed Junior on the floor to have a stretch. “I’ll bare that in mind but I think we’re ok at the moment.”

“My pleasurrre. And mum is the worrrd on you being herrre until you tell me otherrrwise.” M’Mira turned and left the two to their own devices.
