Mission: Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Function Room, Diplomatic Hub
Timeline: MD02 - 1100 Hours

Harry has decided to take Laddie for a stroll around the station. Both he and his companion needed to stretch their legs. As they wandered past the Diplomatic Hub the Captain wondered how the Chief Engineer was doing putting together the stage and podium for the following nights ceremony.

He strolled in to a buzz of life with engineers and techs all over the place trying to get jobs done. Although the scene looked chaotic he could seen good progress was already being made.

Catrina had focused on her work, and nothing but her work, after tossing and turning the night before in her bed. Her mind was trying to fight against what she should be doing and what it was she wanted to be doing. She looked up from where she was sitting with her checklist and rolled her eyes. “No, I said leave space between the rows, otherwise they will be climbing over each other!” Her voice came through overly tired and frustrated.

Her eyes caught Laddie coming in with the captain and she let out a soft sigh. Setting her PADD up on the podium that had everything but decorations done, she eyed the group of officers. “Keep it up, guys. I’ll be back.” She let her feet drag her over to the captain and scratched at Laddie’s ear before giving the best smile she could to the captain. “Morning. Coming to see the progress?”

Harry smiled, “I am, but I’m not here to crack the whip just curious as to how it’s looking.” The Captain said as he glanced around at the work that had been done. “I must say it’s looking good. Any problems so far?”

“Nothing that we’ve run across. We should be done actually ahead of schedule with how well everyone is doing.” She glanced back over at the podium. “Just wish someone would give us the decorations, that podium looks a bit...bland?” Cat looked back to the captain, her eyes betraying her attempts to look awake and focused on the work.

The Captain nodded, “I agree with you, perhaps you could replicate some decorations to make it look more like a celebration than a funeral?”

Cat gave a small chuckle, “Any color preferences? I’m no good at those things, and am not sure what to actually do.”

“Neither am I!” Joked Refelian. “Perhaps speak to Commander Prescott for some input.” He paused for a moment and looked at the Engineer. She looked tired. “You ok?” He asked quietly.

“I’ll do that, make sure we aren’t going to hurt anyone’s eyes and such.” She raised an eyebrow at the question and then sighed. “Sort of.” She shook her head, “Not really.”

Harry glanced around and saw a quiet spot in a corner, “Let’s talk.” He said with a warm smile as he headed towards the quiet corner. “What’s on your mind, Cat?”

Letting out a shaky breath, Cat followed after nodding to the statement about talking. How much could she actually tell though? Once they were away from everyone else's ears, she looked down at the floor for a moment before speaking. "I can't focus. I..." She bit her lip and looked up at him. "Lieutenant Dufrai is missing and..I..." She did her best to keep any tears back that she could.

The Captain nodded his understanding and put a reassuring hand on the Engineers shoulder. “I didn’t realise you were an item or I would have made the effort to see you sooner. Sarah is tough as old boots, her team are going to be looking for her when their mission allows. I’m still hopefully she’ll turn up somewhere.” He said with a smile.

"No..no one knows. Besides our new intel chief, she figured it out on her own. It all happened when she was here delivering her report." Cat shook her head. "I'd accidentally triggered her emergency holographic beacon during repairs, and we talked for a while. But now I try to keep myself busy so I don't try to go find her."

“Please don’t go trying to be a hero, it is in hand. When I hear anything I’ll let you as well.” Harry replied. “Of course people shouldn’t know but people do talk, news of myself and Commander Prescott’s relationship seems to have spread like a wildfire. If you need to talk, my door is always open.”

"I won't say anything about you two...if you don't say anything about Sarah and I." Cat bit her lip. "Right now I just need to focus on the work. Though that isn't even fully helping. I'll be okay, I think." She gave him a soft smile. "Thank you, seriously, Captain."

“I wouldn’t worry, most if not all the station knows about us.” Harry said with a sigh. “If you need anything, let me know. Would you like me to inform Commander Prescott about this so she knows?”

Cat shook her head. "No, it's okay. If I run across her and we get talking, I'll let her know. Besides, I need to talk to her about colors, right? I'm sure it'll come up."

The Captain nodded, “Ok then. I’ll leave you to get back to work.” He said with another reassuring pat on the shoulder.

"Thank you again, Captain." She gave the best smile she could and made her way back over to the group she was working with.
