Mission: Mission 3: Diplomacy, what’s that?
Location: Commanding Officer's Office

M'Mira was in a miserable mood. Four or five months ago, Captain Refellian left Faltan Station just after she got this place in operating condition, despite Cat trying to mess up all her hard work. Captain Refellian then had the audacity to impregnate her best friend Mint, despite her warnings to both of them not to get involved. Then, like most men, he up and left her for some other position! She would never forgive him for that! After all, Mint was as old as his youngest daughter and she had never had a child before. That left it up to M'Mira to take care of Mint.

However, Mint decided that command was too much for a woman in her state and unexpectedly resigned. In her place, rather than M'Mira, a new Captain, a Captain Ryoko Takato appeared. She allowed security to get so lax that Cat was attacked by one of those Crystal Fruits that M'Mira had heard so many rumors and innuendos about. She was able to confirm their existence when she gained temporary command of the station due to Takato disappearing. If M'Mira had her way, no Crystal Fruit would ever set foot anywhere near Faltan again.

However, in all those months, nobody had been appointed to take over Faltan. Did that mean that Takato's orders held, regarding preparing Faltan for dismantling? Like hell she was going to set up Faltan and then have it dismantled, let alone on the orders of a Captain that disappeared. She had gotten nowhere through the normal channels, so finally she sent a direct communication to Vice Admiral Banda. Opening the channel, the annoyed Caitian, growled, =^= Admirrral Banda, this is Lieutenant Commanderrr M'Mirrrra of Faltan Station. We need to talk about ourrr currrrrrent situation.=^=

VADM Banda was aboard the Hawaii, en route to the Raeya Sector Block. Just by happenstance, she was headed to Faltan Station to conduct an inspection while also handling Starfleet Administrative business, namely figuring out the situation with its commander. The position seemed to be a revolving door of sorts.

She wanted to get a handle on the affairs on the frontier of Federation space before she took command of Third Fleet.

As she was working in one of the borrowed offices aboard the Hawaii, Banda saw the message and replied. =/\= This is VADM Banda, how may I help you Ms. M'Mirra?=/\=

=^=You can rrremedy the completely unsatisfactorrry situation on Faltan Station. I have kept this place frrrom falling aparrt for severrral months and will not see my harrrd worrrk go to waste. I did not come herrrre to rrreopen this station with Rrrefelian just to give it to the Falteans or abandon it forrr a space station. This station is vital to Federrration interrrests and I will not let some little goverrrnorrr bully us off. Surrrely you must see the logic of this,=^= she told the Vice Admiral unrepentantly.

Banda was a bit confused. Hadn't the Commander heard about her upcoming inspection?

=/\= Commander, I am due to arrive at your station in about a week or so. Surely we can discuss this further in person? =/\= Banda asked.

=^= With all due rrrespect, Admirrral, herrre I am, a Lieutenant Commanderrr, trrrying to rrrrun a planetarrry station. When Commanderrr Prrrescott announced that we may be closing, all of the proverrrbial rrrats have fled, trrransferrring left and rrright, putting us in an unsatisfactorrry situation. I need some assurrrances and I need some capable staff.=^=

=/\= Well, let me assure you, Commander, that my visit and assignment as the new Third Fleet Commander will certainly help. =/\=

=^= Well, I am currrrrrently at a loss to see how that it will. Therrre have been so many prrromises and so many brrroken.=^=

=/\= I am well aware, M'Mira, =/\= Banda paused thinking about how many promises that were broken from senior Admirals of Bravo Fleet. =/\= I promise you that as I take command of Third Fleet, I do not guarantee perfection, yet I will never promise you something I do not intend to fulfill. I also keep those promises. =/\=

=^= We shall see. When should we expect you, admirrral? =^=

=/\= I will be arriving in approximately a week. I will see you then, =/\= Banda replied curtly and cut the communication. She'd have to keep an eye on the new CO of Faltan.

Knowing she had been dismissed, M'Mira fumed. She could not wait to rip into the new Admiral when he arrived.
