And so it begins, or does it?

Mission: Mission 3.5 Faltan proudly welcomes ... The USS Kumari
Location: Various

Aeryn was sitting alone in one of Faltan’s quieter get together spots, she wasn’t normally one for going out in the evening but now they had the USS Kumari docked up at the station she thought she’d best frequent and make her presence known.

It was nice to see more life around the station, without visiting fleet ships it seemed quiet even though they had various other ships arriving. She was sitting alone when she saw a new face, one she recognised from the Kumari’s roster, getting up she moved across to introduce herself. “Commander McCarthy? I’m Aeryn Jameson, First Officer of Faltan Station.”

Liam looked over at Aeryn and noticed that she had Romulan blood. It was bad enough that she was female but partially Romulan. She probably was going to trick him into sex to have a child like Liorae. Nothing but traitors and spies, the Romulans. "I am Commander McCarthy," he responded neutrally, his blue eyes going cold.

“From the USS Kumari, I thought I recognised you from the Kumari crew listing.” Aeryn smiled warmly. “I just wanted to welcome you aboard the station, I know your ship won’t be here long but I hope your brief stay is a nice one.”

She just wants me to bang her, doesn't she? Liam thought to himself. Dirty Romulans. Nothing but trouble. At least this one probably isn't a spy like Liorae. "I see, so you sought me out just based on my picture."

“More or less” Aeryn nodded. “I get the feeling that you’re suspicious of my motives though” She gave him a knowing look. “If you would like to alone Commander I can always leave you to it.”

Liam looked at her eyes. Part Betazoid too. Lovely. "I simply do not understand why you sought me out," he told Aeryn stiffening his mental resolve to try and block the woman from any thoughts.

"I didn't seek you out Commander" Aeryn smiled. "I was passing and saw you here, I thought I'd say hello. Was I wrong to do so?" She gave Liam a curious look. "If you wish me yo leave you alone then I'll bid you goodnight. Just don't say I'm following you if you see me near the senior officers quarters, that's where my quarters are, along with the visiting senior officers quarters."

"Ah, so you are following me, then." Liam replied with a wicked smile. "Already have it all planned and staked out."

Aeryn folded her arms across her chest and gave Liam a curious look. “I have a feeling you’re the one who has it all planned out Commander” she grinned.

"Is that a fact? I am curious as to the basis for your statement, Commander."

"Well you're obviously not planning to sit here alone all night. Most men frequent the bars to pick up female company, it's just a case of who they choose to take home with them." Aeryn smiled. "Perhaps I'm cramping your style Commander, I'll leave you to your ... drink." She smiled and nodded before turning to leave.

"Are you saying that you want my company, Commander?" A mischievous smile started rising at the corners of his mouth.

"I'll leave that entirely to you Commander, just don't blame it on me if you decide you want company." Aeryn offered her own mischievous smile.

Liam decided that he liked this woman. She was feisty. There was the matter of T'Mari but he already warned her. So, Aeryn was fair game. "Oh? Are you saying that I would be unable to attract anyone else? That I am somehow desperate?"

“Did I say such a thing?” Aeryn shook her head. “I just thought you didn’t like Romulans.” She gave him a knowing look.

Liam's eyes narrowed. "How would you know that?" Was this a trap? Was she sent by T'Mari? Or by someone from Astraea? Liorae? He heard there was a nosy reporter here, was it her?

“I was going from your initial reaction to me actually” Aeryn looked at Liam. “I felt what you felt. This isn’t some elaborate trap Commander, that’s not something I do.”

"I don't believe you," he suddenly replied. "I think I will be calling it a night. I have a fine ship to mind." With that, he started heading towards the exit.

“It’s been nice meeting you Commander” Aeryn called after him before taking a seat and ordering herself a drink.

Certain that someone was laying a trap for him, whether T'Mari or someone else, he said nothing more and headed back to Kumari, certain that coming onto Faltan was a bad idea.
