1,327 words; about a 7 minute read

Mission: Mission 5 - The Cold War Ends
Location: Office of the Executive Officer
Timeline: MD001 1600 hrs

After the conversation with Lieutenant Turner, it didn't alleviate Kaylee's feeling of wariness; her feeling of concern grew even more. Especially with the engineer of the station having been in a relationship with Candy. That is a big problem at least in her mind. Tapping on her combadge she called Patton.

=^= Colonel Patton, this is Lieutenant Serra may I meet with you in your office? I have something I need to talk to you about? One word, Candy.=^=

Jack was happy that another member of the crew had taken an interest in the Candy situation. However, he had wished that she did not mention it on the open comm channel. He tapped his comm badge. "Not a problem Lieutenant report to the throne room."

Throne Room.. Throne Room- Kaylee looking at the padd to find the location. Oh! There it was, Level 13.

Kaylee made her way posthaste to the Throne Room, the pony tail that she had her hair in bouncing as she walked. The blonde woman,
wondered just how far the Kingsmen had gotten in making this place their new home, Kaylee looked forward to seeing it. From her experience on Poseidon Station, Kaylee figured that she would have to get permission to enter. And she would be waiting for that.

The Kingsmen First Sergeant Robert Schiano had the watch. Among the Marines he was known as Meatball on account of his Italian heritage. When Kaylee approached he held out his hand. "I am sorry EL T but dis area is off limits to non essential personnel. Youze got somtin to do here?"

A brief flash of a smile and delight seeing Bobby there, Kaylee straighened up her posture, her face going more into calm repose. "Yes, Master Sergeant Schiano. I contacted Colonel Patton to have a meeting with him. He asked me to meet with him in the Throne Room. I will wait for his confirmation on what I said." being concerned of the security of the station, Kaylee would rather adhere to protocols for security reasons.

Schiano signaled the Private that he was with to go check, and in a matter of minutes the Private had gone and come back. "The Colonel is expecting the Lieutenant, Master Sergeant." The Private reported. Schiano nodded and replied. "Thank you Private. You have the post as you were." Then he turned to Kaylee. "If you would follow me I will take you to BlackJack. I apologize for that but as we settle in here the Colonel wants procedure followed to the letter." He motioned for her to follow him as he stepped into the general lounge area of the Throneroom.

"Its alright, I perfectly understand. And I draw comfort in seeing this protocol in place." Kaylee responding as she followed after Bobby. She looked around to see if there was a difference in the new home for the Kingsmen, or were there some familiar items. Kaylee also found comfort in seeing the broad back of Bobby, the way he carried himself. He was someone a person can count on.

Schiano led her past the group of Marines that were moving some furniture into the actual Throneroom, the meeting room for The Kingsmen modeled after the meeting room of Camelot. At the moment a stone round table could be seen being brought into the room. "Sorry bout da mess but move in days are always the busiest. Right dis way." He led her into an office that was off of the lounge. A stack of boxes stood on one side of the room and Jack sat behind the desk. Behind him was a uniform from the United States Army of World War II and on the desk in a case was two pearl handled pistols. "Meatball thanks for bringing her in. You're dismissed." Schiano turned and left the office. "Now Lieutenant what can I do for you?"

Kaylee watched as Bobby left the room then turned her attention towards Patton. "I wanted to talk about that reporter, Candy. She is up to no good. She tried to cozy up to me under the guise of a Holly O'Brien." she shuddered. "I did not give her any information though. I did however find out that she was in a relationship with an engineer by the name of Lieutenant Connor Turner. He is an engineer for the station."

"Please sit..." Jack began as he thought about what she had just said. "...Before we get into anything else. What makes you think she was up to no good? I mean other than using an alias. But many reporters use aliases to gain information." Fact was Jack did not want let Kaylee know that he had the same feelings despite the Captain's assurances that Candy was harmless.

Kaylee sat down in the indicated chair. "Just something felt off to me, she was trying way too hard to become friends. Almost desperate. Sent up redflags to my mind. After dealing with that spy on Poseidon Station, I am rather wary of someone I've not met before, want to get so close and friendly with me. She was trying to gain information as to where I served on the station."

Kaylee placed her hands upon her lap, "I do feel that I was targetted by Candy, who probablly had access as to the manifest and saw a possible opportunity. I know its a hunch but it isn't something that I will ignore."

"Talking with crew members to get any information for a story is Ms Templeton's MO. However, it could also simply be nothing. There is nothing that we or anyone else can do about it without some solid evidence." Jack was interested in anything about Candy at the moment. However, he also could not afford to jump the gun as it were.

"Simply nothing, maybe- she just isn't anyone who I want to get involved with. She makes my skin crawl. I know.. a bit judgemental on my part." Kaylee stopped there. "And as in law, one is innocent until proven guilty. I would like to know a direction I should be going or just wait, watch and observe."

"Wait, watch and observe. If you happen to see anything that is evidence inform myself or Commander Feshau-Patton. I would also make sure to not talk to her in the future. If she approaches you and asks questions treat it as an interrogation from an enemy and stick to protocol. Name, Rank, Serial number and assignment and nothing else." Jack knew it was not much but it was all he had at the moment. He had to come up with something to take to the Captain, or perhaps M'Mira was in on whatever went on here.

Kaylee gave a nod,"Thank you Colonel Patton, I appreciate this conversation. I'll keep watch out for evidence and definitely avoid any sort of conversation with her." she looked at Jack for a moment seeing if there was anything else she needed to add. Nothing came to her mind so it was time for her to leave. "I think this is about it for this meeting. Once again, thank you for seeing me. I will be sending you reports as to the condition of the station and whatever else I find out. "

"As the XO here my door is always open to everyone. So don't be a stranger." Jack smiled he was still becoming familiar with the crew of Faltan Station. But, it was nice to see some familiar faces around these strange parts.

"I will make certain I come visit, but also not do so when you are out of the office, unless invited." Kaylee flashing a smile. "I don't want to interrupt your time with Aer." Kaylee rising up form the chair. She looked around at the Throneroom, then back to Jack. "This give me comfort like a piece of home, and it is good. I'll see you later, Colonel." Kaylee turning to leave his office.
