Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Location: Romulan Embassy Building Site
Timeline: MD05 - 1150

Telhas was on drill exercises with thirty-three of his guards, the later garrison for the embassy. He stood in front of his troops and gave the orders himself.

"Guaaards! Shouldeeer Aaaaarms!" he shouted and watched them getting their disruptor rifles onto their shoulders. "Pooort..." An explosion interrupted him. It came from the building site of the Romulan embassy. He turned at looked into that direction. It took only a second for his military training to take over. "Pooort Aaarms!" he shouted and drew his sword. "Follow me! Double quick step!" With that command, he started to run, followed by his troops.

It were horrible long six minutes until they reached the ground. One attacker was still firing, and Telhas pointed at the man with his sword. "Take him out!"

The man looked at her side and aimed his Starfleet rifle at the incoming guards. Without even one second of thought, he opened fire at them taking down a few guards and settled himself in behind a wall.

"He's mine!" Telhas shouted and approached the man, continuing to point his sword at him. Cheleb-Mor was more than a simple sword, it was also a resonator for telepathy. The ancient Vulcans knew how to forge good weapons for telepathic warriors. And he was a powerful telepath. He sensed the man's thoughts and manipulated his perception. Every time the phaser was fired at Telhas, it missed. Only a few inches, but it missed. Telhas enjoyed the smell of ozone of the beams cutting through the air next to him.

"Shit..." The man mutters and back away as he grabs a grenade and throws it upwards as it activates "Not today Romulan!" It explodes as the man gets vaporized by the blast and nothing was left of him. The explosion was bigger as another crate gets hit and pushed towards the Ambassador.

Telhas was able to turn, but was still hit by the shock wave of the explosion. He fell to the ground and his ears rang for a moment where he looked at the building site.

The battle was short-lived, but the damage was enormous. The area looked like a war zone as a Romulan coughs up some blood leaning against the wall "Lo....Lord Te..elhas" He mutters as he lifted his head "Lady..."He barely had the strength to keep talking as he pointed towards a destructive area "Lady Nevala stood there...we could not prevent the explosion..."

Pure fury was in Telhas' eyes as he approached the man. "What did you say?" He hissed, his mind already reaching towards his fellow Romulan's mind. He did not even wait for an answer as he read the memories of the man. He did not care that this was a most unpleasant experience for the poor guy. He got everything he needed, seeing the entire attack through the eyes of the witness. "You are dismissed for medical aid," he said coldly, then turning to his remaining guards. "Fix bayonets! set disruptors for pulsed fire, lethal, with anti-coagulant! Take post and let no one, understood, no one either leave nor enter this site! No one!"

The man drops to the ground and grabs to his head as the aftershocks of the mind probe was unpleasant as hell. He shrugs and got himself up "Yes lord Telhas" With that a few other men support their fellow Romulan and escorts him to first aid.

"Officers to me, I want a full report! Fallen and injured! You have five minutes! Move!" Telhas barked. Then he called his ship. "Kaiell, this is Telhas. Red alert! Send me a security team for investigations, optimal equipment! And inform Tal Shiar director Sonara T'Daran, that her cousin Nevala has probably been killed on Faltan. I want her support! A ship, investigators, everything! Also, inform my warbird, the Ket-Cheleb, to get here as soon as possible! I need firepower in orbit! Telhas out!"

"Yes Lord Telhas, Kaiell out" Was the short reply.

A small security force arrives at the scene "What the..." A man looked around "Ambassador?! What happened here?"

The guards immediately aimed their disruptors at the security team and Telhas made no move to stop them. He took a deep breath to calm down a little. "Sir, with all due respect, I have no idea. And as long as I have no idea I have ordered my guards to allow nobody to leave or to enter the area. I must insist you leave!"

"Alright, I think I need my chief here" The security officer replied as he taps onto his commbadge =/\= Marcal to Lieutenant Damon, we have an incident at the Romulan Embassy build site, could you come asap to our location?=/\=

Damon tapped his commbadge. =/\= "On my way." =/\= Damon tapped his commbadge again. "Computer. Emergency transport to the Romulan Embassy site. Authorization Damon alpha 8854 pi." He felt the transporter and he found himself standing in what looked like a battle zone. Damon stepped up and looked at everyone. "Report!"

"Sir at 1200 pm we registrated a various of explosions and phaser fighting at this location. When arriving, the damage was already done, however the Ambassador is not allowing us to investigate or explain what has happened" The officer replied.

"This is, although construction has just started, an embassy," Telhas explained, trying to keep his anger under control, "and thus under my jurisdiction. I want you to leave and let us investigate. It is too early what exactly happened, but I would consider it a terrorist attack. I have lost some of my guards, but more important," his voice became loud while he continued talking, "I have lost my wife! And now get yourself off my embassy before I will also lose my patience!"

"Ambassador. I am Lieutenant Bradley Damon, station chief of security. First, let me say that I am sorry for the loss of your wife, and the injuries your people suffered in this terrorist attack." Damon took a look around. "As security chief, I am responsible for the safety and security of everyone on the station. I ask that you allow my people and myself, to work along side you in determing the people responsible for this attack. I think together we can make sure this doesn't happen again. I ask that you allow any prisoners to be interrogated by both our people, and I would like to station security outside the perimeter of your grounds."

This eased Telhas' fury at least a little. He took a deep breath before he spoke. "Lieutenant, I want my people to investigate. They will do all the scans to collect evidence. And I can and will not let anyone interfere with this." He rubbed his forehead while thinking for a moment, clearly showing that he did not want to be interrupted. "However, I am willing to share all the data we have. But I ask you to share all sensor data you have with us."

Damon nodded. "Of course, ambassador."

"I appreciate additional station security outside my embassy's perimeter. However, you should not post them on the expense of overall station security." Telhas' strategic instincts started to return. "In addition, I will withdraw my engineers from assisting your engineering department. I need them armed and under my command. Please tell Commander Prescott that I have no other choice. Finally, I want to inform you that I ordered my warbird, the Ket-Cheleb, to Faltan to support my investigation. My cruiser, the Kaiell, is insufficient for this task. And the Tal Shiar may also send a ship. After all, Lady Nevala was a cousin of Tal Shiar director Sonara T'Daran. Please make sure both ships will get right of passage." There was a certainty in his voice that allowed no objection. It was clear that the ships would come anyway.

"I'll have to check with Commander M'Mira regarding your ship's passage...but I don't see an issue." Ambassador....were there any suvivors amongst the terrorists?"

"Unfortunately not," Telhas replied, "although I tried to capture one. But he preferred to kill himself with a grenade."

"Too bad, we could have gotten more intel from him. Ambassador. Please do not hesitate to contact me with anything. It would be an honor to assist you, sir."

"Thank you, Lieutenant. We shall exchange our findings and find those who are responsible," Telhas said with an almost unnoticeable nod. "If you excuse me now, I have to return to my ship."
