Mint walked into her quarters after having dinner with Harry. She leaned against the wall and rubbed her hands over her face and groaned. "What are you doing, Mint?" she said aloud to the empty room. She growled at herself before moving further into the space. "Computer, playlist Prescott Four, song 11, volume 7." The computer chirped and Basket Case by Green Day started playing.

"Do you have the time... to listen to me whine..." she sang along as she moved into the living room space and threw a pillow against the wall. "You're doing exactly what they always said you do, Abigail," she chastised herself as another pillow went flying. "It all keeps adding up... I think I'm cracking uuup..." she couldn't help but sing along.

She really did feel like she was cracking up. The events of the past week weighed heavily on her. First Refelian was shot, and she tore her shoulder muscles trying to help him. She rubbed the affected shoulder as a phantom pain shot through it. Then the new Governor accused her of having the previous one assassinated. Dufrai was confusing the hell out of her with the random love letters yet annoying behaviour. Then the Tal Shiar arriving, and the Ambassador being vague and, if she was honest with herself, quite annoyingly pushy about certain things. She was trying her best to assist with the investigation into his wife's disappearance, but she had so many other things to worry about that it was impossible for her to do much.

Currently the only good thing to happen was the arrival of the Chief Engineer. It took so much off her plate. Unfortunately, she used that free time to cause herself, and probably Harry, a ton of confusion. And of course did the very thing she vowed she would never do, have a sexual relationship with her commanding officer. Despite all the rumours that followed her around, she'd never had any form of relationship with any superior officer. Yes, she'd had several trysts with other officers, but they'd all been equal standing to her with absolutely no influence over her career path.

Just as she sat down on the couch, Broken Wings by Mr. Mister started playing and she let out a short bark of laughter before tears started streaming down her face. Her heart ached, felt like it was pulling itself slowly out of her chest. "Why do you do this to yourself?" she whispered, looking down at her heart. "You weren't supposed to let him in," she sighed and laid back on the couch. "Oh Momma... I wish you were here to talk to... you always had the best advice."
