Mission: Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Bridge, USS Minotaur
Timeline: MD03 - 2200

Mint sat in the Command chair for the second time. This time wasn't so exciting. She stared straight ahead, mulling over the details she knew thus far, which wasn't actually much. Pete, Harry's son-in-law was on the Medway. They were testing a slip stream drive. And they'd sent a distress signal and message that ended up garbled. She frowned as she waited for the rest of the Minotaur crew to arrive.

Catrina rubbed the back of her neck as she made her way to the Minotaur. She'd only ever been on here once, and never when it was in use. It was more to get a look around so she didn't get lost. Not that there was really a way to get lost. She got to the bridge and noticed Mint sitting there. With a small sigh, she walked over to make sure all the systems were up. "You sure you're up for this," she asked quietly.

Mint nodded to Tendai and gave her a sad smile. "I'm fine," she said for what felt like the millionth time that day. "Besides, I'm more worried about Harry and Paloma right now. Paloma's husband is on the Medway," she paused as the doors opened to the bridge and someone stepped out.

Nodding, Cat looked over when Connor showed up and knew better than to say anything else about being worried about Mint.

Connor stepped onto the Minotaur. He saw Mint and then Catrina. His eyes immediately hit the floor. "Ensign Turner reporting for duty," he squeaked. Why can't they be less pretty?

"Welcome Turner," Mint said with a nod. "As we have our engineering covered, you'll be covering Ops for this mission."

"Ops. Got it," he responded. "Just like old times under Commander M'Mira...." There was something in Connor's tone that indicated that he was terrified of the Caitian.

Glancing over to Connor, Cat shook her head. "Go make sure we're ready to go, Turner."

“Chief Duffell, reporting as ordered.” Said the Captain’s Yeoman. “I believe you need someone to fly this thing.” She added with a warm smile.

Having already taken a quick glance around in the small sickbay, Leo stepped onto the Bridge as Freya spoke. Giving everyone a small smile as he entered, he decided to wait for Freya to be acknowledged before saying anything.

Connor scurried to the back of the Minotaur with a "Yes ma'am," at Cat. "Preparing for launch."

Duffell took the Helm at the front of the bridge and began her pre flight checks. “Where are we off to’ ma’am? The call to report to Minotaur sounded quite serious."

Mint nodded gravely. "We're going to the last known coordinates of the USS Medway," she said in response to Duffell. "We don't know what we're walking into here. The only information I know is that they were testing a new slipstream drive, and that Captain Refelian's son in law is on that ship. I know one life is not more important than any other, but it's hard to ignore such a connection. Our job is to find the Medway, figure out what happened, lend any assistance we can, and get that crew, every member if possible, out of there alive."

She looked at the gathered crew and frowned. "Prepare for the worst case scenario, but keep hope for the best," Mint added. "Now, is everyone here?"

Doing a headcount on who should be there, Cat sat down at engineering and shook her head. “We need Masters. Otherwise, we’re full crew.”

Jonah stepped out of the turbolift just as his name was mentioned. Walking to his station, he made a few quick taps on the console, configuring it to his preferences. After a brief run through, he reported, “Tactical systems ready at your command.”

“Ready to depart on your orders, ma’am?” Duffell reported from the helm.

Connor conjured up many worst case scenarios in his head. Disappearance into another dimension. Dematerialized and atoms spread across the universe. Moved into another phase or time stream. Blown into space.... So many possibilities. Part of him wanted to ask, which worst case scenario or what Mint deemed to be a worst case scenario but that would mean that he would have to look at her and that was nearly impossible to do. He wondered what Holly would say.

"Since we're all here now," Mint smiled over at Masters before turning her attention back to Duffell. "Take us out. Head to the last known coordinates. Full impulse as soon as we clear the atmosphere."

“Beginning take off procedures, engaging thrusters.” Duffell reported as her hands danced over her console. The Wallace Class vessel took off and headed up through the atmosphere and into open space. “Looks like the distress call is coming from the near the last planet in the system. Setting course and engaging at full impulse.”

“Engines are at your control, Duffell. Be nice to her?” Cat shifted a few things around on the engineering screens, glad that it all looked good.

“Don’t worry, Commander, she’s in safe hands.” The Chief replied with a smile.

Catrina gave a small smirk and turned back to her engineering information.

As they traveled to the location of the Medway's distress signal, Mint shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "Anything coming up on the sensors?" She called over her shoulder, hoping they could get any information at all about what was going on. It was unlikely with the distance between them, but she was hoping something would come up, even a small clue.

Looking over at Mint, and then at the others, Cat was hoping the same thing. She'd been on the edge of her seat since they left, and she did not like not knowing anything.

There was nothing to report, they were still too far out to gather any information yet. Mint sighed as she leaned back in the chair. She looked over to Cat and frowned. All of this worrying was giving her heartburn. Then again, it could have also been a side effect of the nausea. Feeling restless, she got up and moved to the replicator, ordering a cup of ginger tea with honey. She sat down again, holding the mug in front of her, letting the steam waft up to her face.
