Mission: Mission 3: Diplomacy, what’s that?
Location: Faltan Station

{ON}

Fitzgerald stepped onto the transporter pad of the USS Perspective, which had taken him from Earth all the way out to Faltan Station. He felt a sense of relief about stepping onto the pad, knowing he was going to be far away from the depression and troubles Plaguing him back home, his ex wife, his daughter, who Connie wouldn't even let him see, and a whole two and a half months worth of Divorce settlement.

"We're ready to transport whenever you are, Lieutenant," The transporter chief said, ready at the controls.

"Energize, chief."Came the reply and Fitz faded out, then back down on the Faltan Station transporter pad. He looked around the room and saw the chief at the controls, and what appeared to be a Romulan Lieutenant commander standing next to the chief.

"Lieutenant John Fitzgerald, reporting for duty, you must be Commander Aeryn Jameson?" He said, stepping down off the pad.

Aeryn was impressed. "I am indeed, welcome aboard Faltan Station Lieutenant Fitzgerald. I was in the neighbourhood so I thought I'd meet you when you beamed over." She motioned for him to walk with her. "I haven't been here long myself hence being in the neighbourhood."

"Thank you, commander," He said, "It's been quite a while since I've been on a ground station, My last assignment was on board the USS Triton, in the Gamma Quadrant" A look of what could almost be described as pain shot across his face. "But this will be a nice change of pace."

Aeryn gave Fitzgerald a concerned look. "Lieutenant if there's ever anything you need to talk about, I'm more than willing to listen." She smiled warmly. "As the saying goes, my door is always open."

"I'll certainly keep that in mind," he said, correcting the look on his face with a smile, "I'm just happy to get back to work," he said looking around, "Anything I need to know about the operations here?"

"Well so far we only have a handful of the crew we need to run this station efficiently. As it currently stands I'm assigning you to our attached ship the USS Minotaur as Helmsman. Are you up for that?"

Fitzgerald Smiled real wide, "You just made my day, commander, I'd be more than happy to."

"Excellant!" Aeryn smiled. "To be honest I haven't had a chance to even see the Minotaur yet. All I know is she takes a small crew 3 officers and 15 enlisted. I just hope you'll find your duties on the station as interesting."

"Any duties that include flying are always interesting," he said, still smiling, "Which way to my Quarters? I'll need to drop my stuff off and make my way to Report in to the CO."

"I won't bother trying to explain the route I'll just give you this." Aeryn grinned as she handed him a PADD which contained his security access codes and quarters assignment. Plus a map of the base. "There's all the information you need plus a map of the base on there. Please let me know if there's anything else you need."

Fitz took the PADD and looked at it, "I'll do that, It'll be a pleasure working with you, Commander," he said as he started his way towards a brave new future.

Aeryn stood and watched him go before turning and heading for her office.
