Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Location: Providence Shipyard
Timeline: MD-14 (2 weeks before arriving at Faltan Station)

Horatio, Harry to his friends, Refelian walked the corridors of Providence Shipyards after being summoned by Admiral Banda. He’d recently returned from a months leave after his last command, the USS Solent, has been retired from service after being badly damaged by an encounter with 2 Breen warships on the Federation Breen border. The Akira Class starship had been demend unsalvageable. The crew was reassigned and Refelian requested extended leave.

He was now ready to take on the next challenge in his long and distinguished Starfleet career. Although, he was surprised when he’d been requested to report to Admiral Banda on Providence. As he strode towards the Admiral’s Office, he wondered if the Admiral could remember their last meeting some ten years earlier. ’Probably not.’ he concluded as he reached the Admirals office. He took a calming deep breath before pressing the door chime and waited for permission to enter.

The door slid open to reveal Captain Ramsey along with Rear Admiral Banda. The two were laughing in conversation.

"Harry, please come in and have a seat. Can I get you a drink?" Banda asked.

“I’m fine, Admiral. If this is a bad time, I can come back.” Refelian said gesturing to the other officer in the room.

"Oh, not at all. Leslie is in my office so much with the Gorn situation, it is practically his also. I am glad you are here though. We have lost contact with Faltan recently. It could be nothing or it might be the SoK or Romulans up to something. Either way, we are looking to beef up our operations in the Raeya Sector Block. You were at the top of our candidate list to take over the station," Banda explained.

“Captain.” Refelian said with a nod, as he placed his hands behind his back. “If memory serves, Faltan is a planetary base sandwiched in between Romulan and Klingon Sovereignty of Kahless space. Sounds like an interesting assignment.” Harry said with a short pause as he thought, “Any ideas why contact was lost with Faltan? I’m guessing a small administrative team was left behind.”

"Our best assessment is Romulan or SoK jamming. It could also be a local communications issue. Either way, the sector is becoming much more important, strategically," Banda answered.

“Worth investigating all avenues then.” Refelian replied as he pondered. “Could foul play also be an issue?”

"I would consider the jamming to be foul play, most certainly. If you are suggesting the murder or kidnapping of an installation commander, I would most certainly hope not. That would be quite bold, even for our most nefarious allies," Banda pondered aloud.

“Clinical investigation will be key to solving why Faltan has gone silent. But I’m up the challenge as always, Admiral. Is there anything else we should be concentrating on as we set up Faltan Station again?” Refelian asked.

"The Raeya Sector Block is quite important, Captain. While we have many assets out that way, Faltan Station will become a focal point for our operations and keeping an eye on the Romulans and Klingons. Station command will be a bit different from commanding a vessel. Please do not be surprised or alarmed if my staff tends to ping you more than you may be accustomed," Banda answered.

“Ping away, it won’t be any trouble. I look forward to the challenge, keeping an eye on the Romulan’s and Klingon’s will make a change to dealing with the Breen over the last few years.” Refelian said with a gentle chuckle.

"Do you have any questions?" Banda wanted to be sure there wasn't anything lingering.

“I don’t believe so, ma’am. Is there any from you?” Harry asked.

"We will be in touch. See you at the O&I," Banda said in dismissal.
