Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Command & Control, Command Hub
Timeline: MD02 - 1800 Hours
Captain’s Refelian approached Commander Prescott, who had been helping with Flight Operations for couple of days with all the extra traffic heading in and out of the Faltan system. “Commander, how’s it looking up there?”
Mint turned to Refelian and smiled. "Pretty good, Captain. Everyone's playing nice and we've got things down to an organized chaos. It's a rough ballet, but it's still looking good." She fixed the ponytail she'd pulled her hair up into and leaned against the back of an empty chair.
“Excellent, any problems I should know about?” Refelian said pleased to hear things where going well, ish.
"None at the moment," Mint chewed her bottom lip as she thought. "Though if it gets any busier up there, we may run into some issues. I'm trying to get all the supply ships in and out as quickly as possible, I've been given advance notice of many of the VIP arrival times. They should be quite staggered tomorrow, but there are still a lot of blanks on my board," she pointed to a portable display she'd set up with time slots for the next day and a list of the VIPs beside it. Some names were written at the appropriate times, but many lines were still empty.
“The Hangar bay looked very busy when I was down there earlier speaking with commander M’Mira. I’m guessing that the hangar is near capacity?” Harry asked as he looked at the flight operations console.
"Currently, yes," Mint nodded. "We're trying to get supplies in as quickly as possible," she gestured to the console to indicate the hangar bay's schedule. "We've asked crews to get in and out as fast as they can, but aren't being pushy about it since no two ships are carrying the same amount of supplies. Tomorrow will be more interesting with coordinating VIP arrivals in such a way that we don't cause wars to break out down there."
“It almost sounds like your enjoying this, Commander.” Harry said with a smile. “Have the supplies been coming in at the scheduled times?”
"I like being busy," Mint agreed. "I'm used to running a ship, sir," she tried not to laugh, but ended up smirking when she called him 'sir'. "Always something to do when you're the Chief Engineer of a ship. Running a station is great, but I love being in the thick of things like this. And yes, the supplies have been coming in at scheduled times. However, there are some that show up without warning. Luckily, all of the Captains of the ships have been following our orders."
“Are you saying you don’t have enough work here, Commander?” Refelian teased.
"No, I'm saying I don't have enough 'fun' work here," she teased back, trying hard not to flirt with him in the middle of the flight control center. "Reports are probably drowning my desk right now, but they're boring. I want to have more fun," she said, lowering her voice at the end.
“I’m sure more fun things to do could be found.” Harry replied in a hushed tone.
"I'm sure I could take a break," Mint smiled and looked around. "Some dinner and dessert sound excellent right now."
Harry glanced at the time and nodded, “Sounds, good. I think Paloma was doing dinner for 1900 but we can head to my quarters now if you like for a drink?”
Mint walked over to the person next in command of flight control and handed off to them. She then returned to Harry and grinned. "Lead the way, my Captian..."
“I hope you’re hungry, Paloma likes to put on a feast when she entertains.” Harry said with a chuckle as he lead them to the turbolift.
"Mmmm...I am hungry," she said though eyed Harry up, indicating it wasn't entirely for food. "But I'm more looking for some dessert..."
“I sure Paloma and Junior won’t mind waiting outside for a while.” Harry said with a smirk.
"Or we can just make a pit stop at my quarters... I would like to change into something more casual," Mint chuckled and shook her head.
Harry smirked, “I like your thinking.”
Mint laughed and lead the way to her quarters. Once there, she punched in her code and pulled Harry through the door. Once they closed behind him, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
