Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Location: Sickbay - USS Minotaur
Timeline: MD04 - 1520

Calista was quickly helped into a surgical gown by one of the nurses as the surgical arch was put in place over the Captain's chest. A holographic image appeared over the biobed highlighting the damaged area.

Anesthesiologist and surgeon Leo Giordano stood working on the other side of the Captain, near the head of the biobed. Having just placed a neural caliper onto the captain’s forehead, he activated it in order to keep the man unconscious.

"Luckily it wasn't too close to his heart. We've got damage to the subclavian artery, push 10 cc of anprobalene." Calista ordered.

Leo glanced up at her and quickly nodded as he grabbed a readied hypospray on a nearby tray. After double-checking the amount of the drug, he placed it against the Captain’s neck releasing it’s contents. “Done,” he said, looking up at the Captain’s readings on the bio-monitor screen.

"Good his blood pressure is stabilizing." Calista said, "I've isolated the bullet wth the medical transporter. Keep an eye on his stats." She said, accessing the transporter she locked onto the bullet and fragments energizing they appeared a moment later in the metal dish next to the bio bed. "Vascular stitcher." She said extending a hand.

"Here you go," Leo said, handing it to her, his eyes briefly laying on the metal dish and its contents before quickly returning to the Biofunction Monitor. He then informed her out of his own protocol, "the protoplaser's ready..." and as he checked some different readings on another screen, continued with, "...hopefully you won't be needing it. He is doing remarkably well, all things considered. My hope," Leo said as moved back to the other screen, "is those bullet fragments can help provide some answers."

"Make sure those get to security." Calista said as a nurse moved the fragments out of the way. "Alright, BP is stabilizing. oh-two saturation is low, push 5 cc Yorizine, I've repaired the damage to the spinal cord but there's substantial inflammation in the spinal cord and brain. We'll have to keep him in a medical induced coma for the time being."

"Pushing 5 CCs of Yorizine," Leo confirmed, and then with the assistance of a nurse, started setting up an IV unit. Once it was set up and the sedative taking affect, he would remove the neural caliper from the Captain's forehead.

"Alright, good work everyone. Now we wait." Calista said.
