Mission: Mission 5 - The Cold War Ends
Location: Various USS Caliban
Timeline: MD01 - 0600

Jack sat in the command chair of the steamrunner class USS Caliban, with his wife seated next to him functioning as the Executive Officer. The ship had approached the end of a four-month journey across the galaxy from Poseidon Station in the Gamma Quadrant to Faltan Station in the Delta Quadrant. The cargo bay was filled with most of the gear that the Kingsmen needed to settle in to their new home. Jack knew that Aer was not pleased to not be in command of the ship, but he had to assume command with all of the Marines aboard. Additionally, he rather enjoyed watching her swell with the babies they would have in a few short months.

"Hey Jacko. We are within warp distance to Faltan Station." Robert Meatball Schiano reported from the helm of the ship. "Take us out of slip stream and set a course for Faltan Station warp 6." Jack paused as Schiano set the commands into the helm. "Get it done." He ordered and the USS Caliban in a flash of blue light and green gasses dropped from slipstream velocity. The ship was still for the briefest of moments before it shot off in a blast of white light into the warp field.

Aer found the XO chair uncomfortable, she had been accustomed to the CO chair that her husband currently sat in. He had taken command of Caliban in order to 'ferry' his marines over to Faltan Station, the place that was to be their new home and eventually the home of their children.

Inside of her it felt like a storm was brewing but that was more the growing offspring inside of her than her mood about being moved station without so much as an ask from her husband. Over the last 4 months she had let a bit of that go but still it hung around her neck like an albatross a little. "How long until we reach Faltan Station?" She addressed Schiano as she shifted to get comfortable on the seat.

Anthony had enjoyed this journey for the most part. Sitting at the engineering console he had found little to do aside from watch the ship seamlessly glide through the slipstream. He was quite happy that Erin was also coming to Faltan. Ever since their 'moment' in the MU they had been shooting more than glances at each other.

"Six hours current speed." Meatball responded with a glance over his shoulder.

"I hope this place has a decent promenade. Too much seafood in Poseidon..." Anthony chuckled. "Maybe the clue was in the name... but I'm looking forward to a new start, even if I am back in the position I started in."

"You will have an interesting task ahead of you Spitfire. We are to scout out and plan for a full SFMC base of operations in the Delta Quadrant. That will be your mission. So, I would not feel too low about the change." Jack smiled as he spoke. Change was not often accepted by Marines. However, he saw that his unit had taken it better than most.

Brina was stationed at the operations console, monitoring the systems of the Caliban. She looked towards the others on the bridge. A soft smile upon her lips, she listened to the chatter there. Meatball was piloting the Caliban with his usual flawless skills. She also thought about her family set up in some quarters and Kaylee helping Nicholas keep the boys entertained during the journey. The mention from Bobby as to the time frame of their arrival was music to her ears.

"Six hours you say Meatball?" Brina breaking her silence. "I am looking forward to seeing what lies before us here in the Delta Quadrant." addressing the rest of the bridge. " Change is a good thing, you know, most of the time."

"Yeah, I would say so..." Jack began as he gave his wife's hand a loving squeeze. "Right Meatball maintain course. Songbird contact Faltan Station advise them of our arrival." He opened a channel below decks. "Puumbaa, Reaper check the suits make sure they haven't been messed with and get all gear ready for transfer to Faltan."

"Sir yes sir." The gruff unmistakable voice of the Tellarite could be heard over the speakers.

T'ra spoke up from tactical. Sensors are clear at this time. the only contacts that I'm detecting is two Federation Express cargo ships coming from Faltan Station, Both are running empty. That and a number of worker bees doing maintenance outside of the station. There is nothing else to report at this tome.

Brina keyed in the contact code sending out the message. "Faltan Station this is the USS Caliban requesting permission to dock, we have arrived." her heart starting to pick up, they were getting ready to step onto their new home.

An Israeli accent came over the comm. =^= This is acting Chief of Security Tomer Chaim. We have been expecting you, Caliban. You are clear to dock. Coordinates are being transferred to you now. =^=

"Thank you Faltan Station. Caliban out. Brina follow their procedures and dock as soon as possible. Prepare to secure the ship and be welcomed home." Jack said with a smile. It was good to finally arrive.

Below deck: Holosuite 12.

H'rar growled at the ceiling. " Computer, H'rar workout program seventeen. Standard free weights 300Kg and my melee weapons, set gravity for 2G. After twenty minutes of reps, the timer chimed and he dropped the free weights and grabbed the melee weapons and began moving defensively as the room shimmered into a Gorn jungle scene. It didn't take long before a nine foot tall Darvin hook horror charged him from the tree line with it's serrated beak and venom dripping hooks on the ends of it's arms. H'rar barely dodged it and smashed his mace into the creatures hip and sent it sprawling to the ground. His axe then split the creatures head.

H'rar was then struck from behind by the creatures mate, which caused him to lose his weapons. The Hook Horror charged once again, but this time he was ready. He side stepped and did a tail sweep on the hook horror causing it to fall on it's back. H'rar leaped on the Hook Horror and clamped his fangs into it's throat, while his hand claws shredded the arm muscles so as to deprive it of it's venom hooks. He shook the neck until he heard a snap and the creature lay motionless. He stood up. " Computer, end program. That was a fun workout. time to clean up and get some chow. " He walked out in search of some food.

Air lock: Faltan Station

Jack walked with Aer at his side surrounded by his Kingsmen. All of their equipment followed close behind. As he stepped through the airlock he saw Captain M'Mira and a man he believed to be Lieutenant Chaim. "Captain, I am Colonel Jack Patton reporting as ordered. Permission to board Faltan Station."

Aer cleared her throat to get Jack's attention. When he looked at her she raised her eyebrows to indicate he should also introduce her.

In the excitement of everything, the new posting, new position, Jack seemed to have lost his manners. "My apologies. Captain this is my wife and your new Chief Intelligence Officer Lieutenant Commander Aer Feshau-Patton. The motley bunch behind me are the Kingsmen."

The Caitian Captain literally had bells jingling on her tail. "Perrrmission grrranted," she told Jack. "I am Captain M'Mirrra. It is good to meet both of you. Therrre is a good deal that we must discuss. I will be calling forrr a brrriefing soon. As I am cerrrtain that you have hearrrd, this is not frrriendly area at the moment."

She then looked behind her to the human male with a gold ring on his right index finger. He had dark brown hair cut close to his head and a dark brown beard that was slightly more than stubble. He was fit and had a serious look about him. M'Mira looked at him and smiled. "This is Tomerrr Chaim. He is our Acting Chief of Securrrity. If he had his way, he would rrratherrr not be so. His wife is the Chief Counselorrr and he would rrratherrr be with her and theirrrr cubs."

Tomer gave Jack a polite nod. "We certainly could use you here. Personnel has been difficult to keep. Being on alert all the time is difficult for many."

Jack addressed the Security Chief first. "I can imagine. But that is one of the reasons that the Corps sent us here. Give my team a day to settle in, unload and stow our gear and we will be ready to assist. You can use The Kingsmen to augment your Security teams when needed, and when we are not on assignment."

He turned to Captain M'Mirra. "Captain I would appreciate the briefing. I will make sure that myself and Captain Tracy-Hall, my XO are in attendance. At the moment I think if you can have someone show us to quarters, and where the Marines are going to be housed, I think we can get settled."

The Captain's tail swished once to her left, ringing her bell. "Lieutenant Chaim can assist you with that. I will be holding a brrriefing soon forrr all the chiefs. We can get into a morrre detailed discussion afterrr that. I look forrrwarrrd to it."

Tomer then addressed Jack. "If you all would like to follow me, I can get you all settled in. The Captain values everyone being well rested."
