Crystal Fruits: City in the Dark - Part1 (Team 1)

Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Location: Atuginia - Detachment Base
Timeline: MD08 - 2230

The city of Atuginia, it looked so peaceful in the night with mere soft lights giving the positions of the towers that were guarding the quarantine zones. The forest side was the border of the city itself and you could hear some shuffling here and there. Resting on her knee, Sarah looked at the city and exhaled a bit as she looked over her shoulder seeing her team arriving behind her "Everyone here?"

Forest > Comes up along with the others, hiding her tiredness. She adjusted her pack. "Spider is here."

Forest> Avery moved slowly, not wanting to trip or fall in front of the others. She came up behind Dufrai, feeling nervous but ready to go. "Here," she said, dropping to her knee and putting her pack on the ground beside her.

forest> Akoni walked up taking the rear, an unspoken appearance that he was ready.

Forest> Nodding towards them all as she took a deep breath "This is a dangerous mission, due...certain situation developments" She eyes Spider and looked back at them all "The guards are on high alert and therefore we need to be careful. Get in, get information and the person and out...clear?"

Forest > Catches the look, but nods to the question.

Forest> "Clear," Avery said, giving Spider a glance, but quickly looks away.

forest> "Clear," Akoni responds, looking over at the others.

Forest> "Hawk, Starlight you are with me on this one...we will be going towards the city through an infected area. I do hope you got your stomach empty because it won't be pretty there" Sarah looked at her side towards Spider and rose her hand "You, however, are on support...you go that way" She points towards a certain location towards a damaged church that had fire

Forest > Frowns, not liking that she was headed in the other direction of everyone else. But what good would it do to fight it? "Understood."

forest>Akoni had nodded, having already prepared himself.

Forest> Avery nodded as well, she wasn't sure about going through the infection zone, but she had no choice in this matter.

Forest> She taps her uniform collar around her neck as a helmet appears "This is the Shepherd mask...it will mask our identity and voice" A strange voice came from Sarah "Keep it up at all time....if citizens or enemy ask who you are...you are Shepherds. Don't worry, when you got the mask on you will hear my normal voice and Spider can also communicate on distant with us"

forest>As she stopped talking, Akoni activated his.

Forest > Activates her own Shepherd mask.

Forest> Avery hid her amazement at this technology, she would gush over it later, if there was a later. She tapped her collar and the helmet went on. "Neat," she said aloud before she could stop herself.

Forest> She waved her hand "Let's move" Sarah saw her team moving in the direction of the city as Sarah stopped Spider and without looking she spoke, "Be careful this time..." She moved forward and followed the rest of the team towards the detachment base of the Red Guards.

Forest > Stops and nods before heading off.

forest>He had meditated and prepared himself, yet as they walked, Akoni found himself thinking about the sick people, especially the children.

Forest> Avery fell into step just behind Kapule, not wanting to be the first to see the infected citizens. Her stomach lurched already at the thought.

Infected> Arriving at the infected area, she took a deep breath and saw the dead bodies laying there "Well it seems the execution continued...." Sarah moved forward through the area and tried to ignore the helpless victims

Infected> Avery kept her eyes firmly on Kapule's back. She couldn't bring herself to look at the bodies, nor anywhere else for that matter. "These poor people," she whispered.

Infected>Akoni swallowed hard, hearing her words.
Infected>Continuing to walk, Akoni scanned their surroundings, understanding they needed to be alert.

ACTION A citizen crawls into the path of them as both Dufrai and Kapulé were able to jump over her. But Benedict's leg was grabbed as the woman fell to the ground

Citizen>Infected>"Help me...please help me...."

Infected> Avery nearly fell on her face when the woman grabbed her leg, but she was able to keep her balance. "I'm sorry," she said to the woman, leaning down and prying her fingers from her leg. "I have nothing for you..."

Infected> Stopping and looking behind her and shrugs "You can use one of the medpacks...your choice..." Sarah looked her right hand and moved forward toward the camp

Infected> Frowning, Akoni continued to watch Avery for another moment before turning around to continue on with Sarah.

Infected> Avery thought fast. She had two medpacks, as did Dufrai and Kapule. While she could technically spare one, she couldn't be sure that they wouldn't need it. She felt heartless, but again she pushed the woman away saying, "I have nothing that will help." Once she freed her leg, she caught up with the others, trying hard not to cry, but keeping her eyes on her surroundings this time.

Infected> Akoni placed a hand on her shoulder, giving her no words but an understanding look.

WreckedHouse> Getting towards a damaged house as she looked around "Fu..." She cursed and looked back at the team that catches up to her. She noticed that Starlight still had her meds and looked to the door "We got two options...go around and risk that we delay the operation or....go through it"

WreckedHouse> Avery surveyed their surroundings then peered through a window. "It doesn't look safe, but maybe we should risk going through," she said turning back to Dufrai and Kapule. "Delays could cost us too much."

WreckedHouse> "There's a risk either way," said Akoni. " I say we go through it"

WreckedHouse> She breaks open the door and slowly enters it as she noticed two paths....and shrugs "Hawk with me...Starlight you go straight to the hallway" She waves towards the hallway as Sarah steps carefully onto the stairs hearing the cracks of the sound.

WreckedHouse> Following, Akoni looks around for any unexpected company.

WreckedHouse> Trying not to gulp audibly, Avery walked cautiously forward in the hallway. She kept her eyes unfocused, taking in as much of her peripheral vision as well as what was in front of her as she could. Her left hand touched the top of her thigh, just above the hilt of her knife.

WreckedHouse>Moving up the stairs as she cracks onto the floor and suddenly heard a click making a twist around and grabs an arrow that was shot from the wall in the direction of Hawk "Trap..."

ACTION When Benedict moved forward in the house, she enters the living room...at first glance, the light was too dark to see it. But then her foot hit something when her vision got better she saw the bodies of many people laying there fresh and death.

WreckedHouse> As it was just short of hitting him, Akoni looked over to Sarah and said, "Thanks"

WreckedHouse> Nodding towards him as she dropped the arrow onto the floor and moved forward to a window and steps out of it and onto the roof "Clear path...lets move and catch up with Starlight"

WreckedHouse> Avery gaged as she looked down at the bodies. She straightened up, gaged again, then slapped her collar making the helmet go down. She leaned into a corner where there were no bodies and lost the tiny contents of her stomach.

WreckedHouse> His facial muscles tight, Akoni was right with her as she moved.

WreckedHouse> Stepping onto the ground she did not notice Benedict anywhere as she press the side of her mask "Starlight report?"

WreckedHouse> Avery slapped the side of her collar and put her helmet on. "Rooms full of bodies," she said, trying not to gag again as she made her way through the rest of the downstairs.

WreckedHouse> Looking at Hawk and then at Starlight as she exits the house "You okay?"

WreckedHouse> "Fine," Avery managed, she could still taste the bile in her mouth. Oh, how she longed for a strong drink. "I'll need a stiff drink before bed, but I'm fine," she gave a firm nod to Dufrai.

WreckedHouse> "I say we do just that," replied Akoni, something so unlike him.

WreckedHouse> Nodding towards her and moving towards the search towers that were now getting closer towards them. The trip was going to take long, but they were approaching it and as they were close to the wall. Sarah looked at her west and east side "Any plans people? We can go west and we can go east..."

Wall> Avery looked in both directions, unsure of which to take. "One longer than the other? Of so I suggest taking the shorter route..."

Wall> Nodding towards Avery on that note "Well it seems..." She looked at both directions again "They are equal...though I have no idea in regards of the troops"
Wall> She taps her side of the mask =^= Spider you are in position?=^=

Comm: =^= All set. =^=

Wall> Sarah nodded to that and looked at her team "A choice please, or do I have to make it now. Time is against us..."

Wall> Akoni made a decision based on a saying he knew. "West"

Wall> Avery nodded, just hoping she wouldn't have to separate from them again.

Wall> Looking at Akoni "Thank you Hawk..." She said and moved towards the West. Thought it was not the best choice as Sarah leans in the high grass and saw the guards standing there "Damn it..." She looked at them "It might be worse at the other side....but with Spider now setup...we got options...Knock them out...distract them or..."Looking at Benedict..." seduction..."

Comm: =^= Three guards west, heavy all the way around. =^=

Wall> Akoni's eyes rolled over to Avery.
"We have your back," he said.

Wall> Avery held up her hands. "I'm not as good as Spider and Owl at that, I suggest knockout or distraction," she said quickly.

Wall> Nodding towards that communication =^= Roger..get lock in your web, ready for feast=^= Looking back at Starlight "Shame...you got looks you know" Sarah looked at the gate "Knock-out it is...Take aim al

Wall> "Knockout then," Akoni said, taking aim, wanting to get it done with,

Wall> Avery rolled her eyes at the looks remark. She then confirmed the knockout option and took aim.

Comm: =^= Ready for feast =^=

Wall> Grabbed her pistol and aimed at the guards as she fired and the pulse went right through the guards head

Wall> Akoni aims yet still ends up missing, "Damn! I missed!" he growls, having been picking up Terran swear words.

ACTION The second person is shot down by a sniper shot from a distant, no sound was made, but the body fell

Wall> Avery took aim on her guard, though just as she gave the trigger a squeeze her stomach lurched again. Instead of her shot hitting the guard in the head, it whizzed past his shoulder. "Damn," Avery said aloud. The rest of the swear words were screamed in her head.

Guard> Wall> Saw his fellow guardsmen fell and looked back at the direction of the firing back at them

ACTION The second shot from the church hits the ground and misses the guard

Wall> Hit, Akoni is thrown back to the wall.

Wall> Moving forward and shooting at the guard back and totally misses as she looked at her side "Now Starlight..."

Wall> Avery realms, and before she can think, pulls the trigger. Her shot hit the mark, right smack dab in the center of the guard's forehead.

ACTION The guards are taken out, West wall entrée is cleared for the team to enter.

Wall> Looking back at Hawk and leans to him "Can you continue?" She asked looking at him and the damage on his suit

Wall> Hugging himself with one arm due to the pain, Akoni leans forward and then nods, "Yeah...I think so."

Wall> Helping Hawk back on his feet as Sarah moves forward towards the gate and leans into carefully noticing various buildings that were interesting. She shrugs and looked back at her team "We got various options...pick a number...1,2 or 3?" She hated to make choices herself.

Wall> "I'm not so good at the choosing this mission," Akoni managed.

Wall> Not wanting Dufrai to be disappointed in her, Avery looked at the buildings quickly. "Three," she said, picking a random number.

Wall> Looking at the youngster and smiled from behind her mask "Alright, let's take that gamble...remember the Lieutenant is our priority and if we can get to any other buildings for additional information then let's do that" With that said she moved towards the third building and started carefully lockpicking the window.

Building3> Akoni leaned back looking around them, casting g(edited)lances at her.
Feeling like a good old fashion Risian massage would be nice.

Wall> Avery bit back the relieved sigh, there was no time to be relieved. The mission was still on. She gave Kapule a pat on the shoulder before readying herself to infiltrate the building. Idly she wondered if there would be anything nifty she could swipe.

Building3> Akoni grimaced at the pat, but still appreciated it.

Building3> As Sarah moved into the building, she noticed that there was no one here good she looked at the direction of the light and heard two voices. She takes aim at the door and looked at Starlight "2...distraction needed...go" She whispers

Building3> Avery slipper into the room and listened along with Dufrai. When she was ordered to distract, she gave a nod. "Right," she whispered and moved silently to the door. After checking the hall, she moved into the hall and slipped into an empty room. She found a small item and tossed it into the hall. It bounced off the wall and landed quietly. She swore under her breath then decided to just whistle to grab their attention. It worked, she heard the footsteps coming closer.
