[LAST TIME ON PARTY TIME!]
Jack practically burst out laughing after seeing the exchange between Meatball and his wife. He walked over to where Schiano had been checking some of the party goers. "Youze in for it big time top. Dat wife of yours is a firecracker." Jack tapped his old friend on the back. "Don't I know it. As you were Sergeant."
[AND NOW FOR THE CONTINUATION]
A line for security check, Kaylee hadn't gone through it yet and no one was exempt from it, well except for Aer.
She walked up to Meatball, "Security check." She said directly to him, meeting his eyes. "Can't let people slide by."
"No ma'am. No one slides by." Schiano tapped his comm badge which activated the earpiece. "Big Red, I need you at checkpoint tango." The ladies of the Kingsmen had been dispersed and placed on standby to check women as they came through the security points.
Seconds after Schiano made the request a woman with fiery red hair approached. Her rifle was slung on her shoulder. She saw the Chief Strategic Operations Officer awaiting to be checked and smiled. Alicia Reilly was going to enjoy the hell out of this. "With all due respect Lieutenant I am goin to need ya to stand with your arms out and feet shoulder length apart." Her brogue made this sound more like a request then an order. When Kaylee complied Alicia began to pat her down, starting with her ankles and then working front to back up her legs etc.
Kaylee observed, she glanced down at Alicia then towards Bobby, then back at Alicia. In her mind she was critiquing how well Alicia was doing the search.
Quietly she said to Alicia. "Not bad, not too bad at all." having a bit of a smile. "definitely would have taught a few of my security people back in the day a thing or two of doing a pat down."
"Thanks El T. She clean Meatball?" Alicia said with a flirtatious smirk. As she had been doing the patdown Schiano scanned Kaylee for recording devices and hidden electronics. "Yeah she's good Red." Alicia smiled and gave a head nod toward the party. "Go enjoy yerself. Tip one back for me would ya."
"I will do so." Kaylee replied with a smile.
Aer paused just short of the checkpoint, taking in the scene with a measured glance. Rifles, perimeter spacing, visible searches. Effective, certainly—if a little theatrical for a station party.
Her gaze followed the pat-down briefly, not with scrutiny but quiet appraisal. The procedure was clean, professional. No unnecessary escalation. That mattered more than the show of force.
She exhaled softly, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she glanced toward Jack’s general direction. You do like a statement, she thought.
Aloud, and only to those close enough to hear, she murmured, “Subtle as a shuttle bay alarm… but I suppose it keeps the message clear.”
S'kaadaar entered the room and spotted a fellow Gorn in Marine Dress Blues. She always felt uncomfortable around her own people.
Alicia stood at her checkpoint with Robert. Thus far no one seemed to give any problems with the searches and extra security. Jack floated about between all the stations and thankfully no one had to break any heads as of yet. The arrival of Lieutenant Kaylee Serra the Chief Strategic Operations Officer arrived. "Lieutenant you are going to have to be searched. Please step back, legs apart, and arms up."
As she headed back towards the party it came to Kaylee's mind she really didn't know many of the Marines. The only ones she'd even came slightly into contact with were; Bobby aka Meatball, Patton, Brina and well just now Alicia. She will have to get that taken care of. Never a good thing in her mind to not know who she will be working with.
Sisi was dressed in a simple navy blue dress. She didn't have anything nearly as fancy as some of what she saw others wearing, but she hadn't been expecting a party right upon arriving on the station. She stopped abruptly as a Marine stepped into her path, blocking her way. "Oh, excuse me."
Alicia looked at the station's JAG Officer. She seemed rather petite for a JAG, or perhaps it was that JAGs seemed to have a larger than life reputation. "Beggin pardon. Commander, but I am going to have to check you before you can enter."
She squeaked slightly as the Marine patted her down. “Sorry, I’m ticklish.”
Alicia found the fact that Sisi was ticklish rather attractive. She concealed the attraction well, but it was undeniably there. "Right then off ya go." She said to Commander.
"Thank you." She blushed. She was too old to be giggling like a child, ticklish or not.
As Sisi walked away Alicia leaned over to Schiano and whispered. "Hate to watch them go, love to watch them leave." Schiano smiled at the comment. For his part Jack shot a look in their direction. He was not upset at the comment necessarily. His look said that they should keep their minds on their jobs.
Just as Sisi was leaving, Connor Turner was arriving. He walked like a man who was on his way to the gallows. As the Acting Chief Engineer, he knew that he was required to be here. However, he was not a person that liked large gala events. He was much happier with his computers and directing the station's computer safety.
From the other direction, a blonde bombshell of a woman strode up towards the security. Upon seeing Connor, she approached him and wrapped her arm inside of his. "Without a date, Connor? I'm happy to be yours."
Connor's eyes looked blandly at the blond. "Candy, why do you continue to do this? We've not been a couple for years."
"Of course not, Connor, but we're still friends are we not? Are we not still close?"
Connor simply nodded for an answer. Once again, he felt outflanked by Candy as they approached security.
Jack saw Candy approach the checkpoint and with the slightest of signals he informed his people that this was one of the people that they had been waiting for. Schiano, Reilly, and Inferson approached the new arrivals with their rifles slung on their shoulders. Jack was one step behind the trio of Marines. "Reilly, Inferson kindly search Ms Templeton. Schiano take the Lieutenant."
Robert Schiano motioned for Turner to stand with his feet shoulder width apart and began the search. He performed a simple pat down as Anthony Hill scanned Connor for any hidden devices.
As could be expected, Connor had absolutely nothing on him other than his clothing. He sighed at the inconvenience of the search.
For Candy there would be a bit more to the search. Jack did not trust the reporter one iota, so he would supervise the search personally. "Ms Templeton would place your hands on the wall and your legs shoulder width apart please." The brunette Marine Erin Inferson had her hair pulled into a regulation bun which made her seem a tad more intimidating and stern.
Candy obediently responded. In fact, she spread her legs further than shoulder width apart. "Go on, feel me up. I assure you that unless you're interested in women, there's nothing for you to get excited about. Now, if you are...." Candy's voice dripped with amusement as she could feel more than a normal share of eyes on her.
Jack initiated the scan personally. He was sure that the woman would have had some sort of recording device hidden on her person. Erin ignored the comment and initiated the pat down. She started at the woman's ankles and worked her way up. She took her time checking the legs and arms. Erin made sure to check the woman's hair, and ears. "She's clean, Colonel." Erin said after the extensive search. Erin stopped short of a full body cavity search, but just short.
Jack looked at the scanning device. No mechanical devices, nothing broadcasting on any wavelengths. In truth Jack was surprised, but did not show it. "Ms. Templeton I would like to remind you that there is no broadcasting, or recording of any kind during this function. Doing so will result in destruction of the recorded material."
Sisi watched as multiple marines converged on a blonde woman, in stark contrast to her own simple pat down. And the woman's behavior in response was... Sisi shook her head. Some people. Hopefully she was wasn't Starfleet, or her first case would be one of sexual harassment.
Candy laughed at Jack and then gave him a knowing wink, "Oh, there will be a broadcast during this function, but you will see when it goes. I assure you, though, that I will not be doing anything other than letting everyone witness my marvelous self here."
She gave him a sly smile. "I hope that you understand that for tonight, I'm only planning on being a good girl. Like Jessica Rabbit, I'm not bad, but I might be drawn that way."
"Ms Templeton I do not think you fully understand. If you broadcast anything, even if it is your trite and pedantic self you will be arrested and charged. Under order of the Captain there is no broadcast to be had. Period." Jack knew that she meant that she would simply be happy with everyone looking at her, and most likely would not broadcast. But wanted to drive home the point.
"Now, Colonel," Candy started, her voice dripping with the sweet stickiness of a spider who already caught her prey in her web. "How could I possibly broadcast anything while I am here enjoying this lovely party? Hmmm?" Candy smiled nearly snake-like, her tongue briefly flicking out to touch her lips. "I'm certain that Connor, there, will tell you that I am mostly harmless." She favored Connor with a sugary sweet smile.
Connor, on the other hand, looked like he wanted to disappear, and as quickly as possible.
