“Could you tell me where I could find Doctor Aereen?” Harry asked the receptionist at the main reception.

“Doctor Aereen is currently doing her rounds on the wards.” Replied the receptionist with a pleasant smile.

“Thank you, I’ll go for a wander to find him.” Harry replied politely before heading up to the wards.

Calista had just finished with the last of her patients, luckily most of the patients were quick recoveries and sent on their way. There was just a pair of Romulans injured in the attack on the embassy, and a marine who had taken a nasty fall in a training activity that were being held. "Captain, what can I do for you?" She asked seeing the CO enter the ward.

“I was just wondering how preparations were going for the ceremony? I’m not expecting your department to be needed but I’m hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.” Harry said with a smile.

"We've got a trauma unit on standby just in case, and we're enlisting the medical departments of our assets in orbit, should something happen, we'll beam them up and treat them there. We're hoping to keep the medhub clear so we can use it as triage centre should we have a major problem." Aereen replied.

The Captain nodded his understanding, “There should be plenty of resources kicking around in orbit to help if the need arises. Hopefully it won’t but I’d still like to be prepared. Is the medical hub fully supplied to act as a triage centre?”

"Yes Captain, most of our remaining supplies arrived this morning, I have a team double checking the entire inventory as we speak, and anything we don't have that we need we can expropriate from the ships visiting."

“Excellent. Anything out of the ordinary happening here?” The Captain asked gesturing at the few patients that were on the ward.

"Just the last of those injured by the attack on the Romulan embassy. Things have been pretty quiet, my team is working through the routine medicals that are due but other than that we're pretty slow." She replied.

“Anyone giving you problems with the medicals? I know they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but they still need to be done.” The Captain replied.

"No sir, everyone has been quite amicable." She replied, "Besides the threat to relieve them of duty until their medical is complete usually motivates anyone who puts up resistance."

Harry smiled, “Indeed it does. If you get anyone who is stubborn let me know and I’ll order them to cooperate.”

"Thank you sir. Otherwise everything in the department seems to be going pretty well. The station really seems to be coming together."

“It really is, isn’t it? I knew it wasn’t going to be easy but at the same time I relished the opportunity. It seems to be turn into an exciting assignment.” Harry replied like a giddy excited school boy.

She nodded, "Any more issues with the Faltans?"

“At the moment they’ve gone quiet. I’m not sure that’s good or not but we aren’t taking any chances as you well know. Security has been stepped up and Marines are patrolling the perimeter.” The Captain replied.

"It would be nice if our relationship with them was better, but this is the situation we have been given." She replied.

“I can’t help but agree with you. But I won’t stop trying but feel the current Governor won’t entertain it.” The Captain said with a shrug.

"While I have you here why don't we do a follow up, make sure there are no issues with you back." She said gesturing to an empty exam room.

The Captain frowned at the Doctor but complied with the instruction. “I’m doing ok, it gets a little stiff and sore sometimes but other than that it’s all good.”

She nodded, "That is to be expected. Try to make sure you're stretching regularly, as it gets stronger you can push it a bit more. Just don't over do, I had to basically knit together most of the muscles in your lower back."

“I have to admit that it feels like you sewed it together with an old fashioned needle and thread.” Harry said in jest. “I actually think it’s my mind playing tricks on my body after an extreme injury.”

"Well don't get shot again and I won't have to." She replied taking several scans before collecting a blood sample. "Everything looks like it's healing nicely, keep stretching regularly and you'll be able to begin some strengthening work next week."

“One plans not to get shot, Doctor. Other people have other ideas.” Harry replied with a smile. “I have been doing the stretching exercises you showed me, it seems to get tender after that.”

"That happens, try to stretch a bit slower, and a hot shower always helps. If it persists let me know and I'll prescribe some low does analgesics."

Harry nodded, “Understood, Doctor. I’ll try stretching a little slower. I’m probably doing it to quickly as I’m trying to get it done as I’m very busy at the moment, as you can imagine.”

"Well just remember that if you wreck something and I have to put you on bed rest you won't be getting anything done. I swear you'd think disregarding your CMO was a course in Command School." Aereen replied with a smirk. "Everything else looks fine so unless there's anything else you need from me you're free to return to all your very busy work."

“How do you know about the disregard your CMO course at the academy?” Refelian quipped. “Thank you for your care, it’s been top quality.” He said as he slid off the bed and yanked his uniform down.

"Of course Captain, let me know if there are any more problems." She said.

“Thank you, Doctor. I’ll leave you to continue your work.” Refelian said with a nod before turning and leaving.
