Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Timeline: MD04 - 1425

Colonel James Haversford had been left in charge of Faltan Station, not there was to be in charge of. True, the Station was getting closer to being at its best. His men had worked hard in getting the Marine hub operational and the barracks was coming along nicely, only another day or two before they could pack up the temporary camp they had set up on the main landing pad. Captain Refelian had asked if they’d been gone in three days due to the Klingon Ambassador arriving and he wanted his bird of prey to land.

Once he’d returned to Command and Control, he stood waited and watched. Was anything going to happen on this station.

“Oh Colonel,” Said a Ensign from a nearby console. “The new JAG officer arrived while you were out. He said something about setting up an office in the Commerical hub in one of the new coffee shops there while he waited for Captain Refelian to arrived.”

James resisted the urge to roll his eyes, ’another Starfleet Officer with something to prove, no doubt.’ He thought to himself. “Thank you, what was his name so I can pass it on to the Captain?”

“Lieutenant Colonel St Clair.” Replied the Ensign.

“A Marine.” He said outloud. “I’ll go and meet him, suppose I’ll show willing. Contact me if I’m needed.” He said as he moved towards the turbolift.

Haversford found the JAG officer, he was indeed sitting in a coffee shop, a large coffee already on the go with various different padds surrounding him. He approached him, “Lieutenant Colonel St. Clair?”

Ethan looked up he currently had two desk terminals set up in front of him and was getting up to speed on the sector legal proceedings. "Yes," He said looking up, "Sir, What can I do for you Colonel."

James smiled, “At ease, Lieutenant Colonel, I’ve just come to welcome you to this hell hole of an assignment. Colonel James Haversford, Commanding Officer of the 4th MEU. When I heard the new JAG officer had arrived and they were a marine, I had to come and say hello. It’s a pleasure.” He said offering his hand.

St Clair smirked, "I heard they stationed a 'mew' here. I'm sure the squid security chief loves it.”

“I haven’t had the pleasure yet but I’m sure we’ll butt heads like we always do.” Haversford said with a chuckle. “So, what made you switch to JAG?” He asked as he took a seat opposite St Clair.

"I was commanding a MARDET aboard the Bradshaw at the end of the Dominion War. Suffered a pretty bad spinal injury, the docs were able to patch me up enough to walk and all that, but the damage was enough that the Corps wouldn't sign off me returning to a combat posting. I could take and admin posting and ride a desk till retirement, or find another way to serve. I choose this." Ethan replied.

Haversford nodded, “Still fighting but with words rather than rifles. I get that. Did you request Faltan Station or were you assigned here?”

"I was serving with 7th Fleet HQ and requested a field posting again, this is where they put me." The SJA replied.

“Thought as much. This isn’t the dream assignment for any of us but it could be an interesting one with tensions rising on the Romulan and Klingon borders. I think we maybe seeing some action at some point in the near future.” Haversford said. “I see you’re busy already.” He said gesturing at all the padds in front of the Lieutenant Colonel.

"It's most routine, they haven't actually staffed the JAG office beside myself a pair of fresh faced Ensigns and a couple paralegals. So right now I'm going reviewing possible staff files, at least there are no current investigations or cases I need to deal with." Ethan said. "I'm assuming the barracks are in as bad of shape as the JAG offices?"

“I suppose that all depends on what your definition of bad is. The barracks were horrendous. We are slowly getting them to spec now. But it’s been a tough few days, a lot of hard work and us kipping on the main landing pad but we are making progress hopefully by tomorrow we’ll be moving into the barracks.” The Colonel explained. “I’m guessing it’s quiet for you at the moment as the station is still being set up.”

"So far, as long no one breaks UCMJ or tries to sue someone." St Clair replied, "So keep the rest of the MEU in line so I don't have any issues." He added with a smirk.

“The Marines don’t break the law, Lieutenant Colonel, they make it.” Haversford said with a smug smile as he rose to his feet. “I’ll leave you with your paperwork.”

Ethan shook his head and returned to his work as the Colonel departed.
