Mission: Mission 3: Diplomacy, what’s that?
Location: Captain’s Lounge, Command Hub

Ambassador Refelian materialised in Faltan Station’s Command and Control centre. He waited for the transporter effect to wear off before taking a deep breath in. The station’s command centre smelt as it had the last time he was there. Sterile and clean but with a hint of freshness which came from the Stations location near the mountainous region of the planet.

He slowly stepped down from the transporter pad as he glanced around and took in the hustle and bustle of the C’n’C. He had actually forgotten how busy it got. He slowly made his way to the Station Commander’s office, or Captain’s Lounge as he liked to call it, he watched a Bolian come out and walk passed. He didn’t recognise the officer but noticed the rank of Lieutenant Commander and Gold Uniform and surmised that that was either the new chief engineer or chief of operations. He gave the Bolian a friendly nod as he walked passed and continued towards the lounge door. Once there, he took a deep breath and hit the door chime.

M'Mira had no planned visitors on her agenda. She had just finished with her new Executive Officer, so who in the world would be bothering her? She made a mental note to obtain a yeoman to chase all of her visitors away so she could take appropriate cat naps for her station. Sighing, the Caitian called, "Come in."

Refelian walked in and smiled at the newly appointed commander of Faltan Station.

The moment that Refelian stepped in, M'Mira's eyes narrowed. Bluntly, she asked, "What arrre you doing herrre?" Her hands went to her hips and her tail stood bolt upright. Even her fur started to stand on edge in certain locations on her arms.

“It’s good to see you too, M’Mira.” Refelian replied with a frown. “I’m guessing you haven’t got the memo yet, I’ve been assigned to Faltan Station as Federation Ambassador.”

"Why would they assign you herrre? Especially afterrr what you did? I assumed it was a joke. You get Mint with cub and then you abandon herrr like yesterrrday's news. Left alone with the prrresurrres of command that you left herrr with, she rrresigned herrr commission and left me, errr, herrre after the attack on Cat. And now, you strrrut in herrre like nothing's happened?" She hissed and then huffed. "How darrre you?! And don't tell me that you brrrought that pathetic, stupid, stinking beast with you."

Harry sighed, he should have expected this reaction to his arrival. “I’ll admit things didn’t pan out as I’d expected. I have since spoken to Mint and have smoothed things over, she understands. She knows that I’ll be there for her and the baby if needed.” Refelian said before pausing for a moment. “What happened to Cat is one of the reason why I was asked to come back. I’m here to assist you as much as possible in the name of the Federation, plus my experience with dealing with the Falteans. I’m not here to step on your toes, I may still bear the rank Captain however I have no real power with it. I’m an Ambassador and here to serve.”

M'Mira's tail swished from side to side ponderously. "I will have to check that with Mint," she told Refelian cautiously. "Howeverrr, you did not answer me about that pathetic, stupid, stinking beast. Laddie. Is it herrre?" she snidely asked. "And what do you know about the Crrrystal Frrruits?" she demanded. "I will not have them on this station again."

“I left Laddie with my daughter. My grandson seems very taken with him, I didn’t have the heart to take him away from the boy.” Refelian replied before moving towards the large window in the lounge and placing his hands on his hips as he looked out. “Crystal Fruits have been designated as a rogue organisation. I believe a ship has been dispatched to search for them and bring them in for questioning and answer charges.”

“Good!” M’Mira replied with a toothy grin. No dogs. No Fruits. The day was shaping up despite Refelian being back. “I neverrr understood why ourrr own intelligence was not good enough and I have seen to it that will be the case forrr the forrreseeable futurrre.”

“I agree with you, not sure why Crystal Fruits was assigned in the first place. It just made the job a lot harder than was actually needed.” Harry replied before turning back to face the Caitian. “So, how have the Falteans been behaving while I’ve been gone? Taga still a royal pain in the ass?”

The fact that Refelian agreed with her about the Crystal Fruits earned Refelian some reprieve from her ire. "She’s not shot anyone or made up excuses for anyone who might shoot anyone lately." She shook her head. "It has been eerrrrily quiet since I took overrr. Maybe because she thinks we arrre actually going to leave and therrreforrre not a thrrreat. I don't know," M'Mira admitted.

When M’Mira mentioned being shot, Harry got a sharp pain in his shoulder where he was shot with a projectile by a Faltan citizen. He shrugged off the pain before replying, “That’s not generally their style.” He replied narrowing his eyes in thought. “There’s rumours that they’re in talks with other independents within the Raeyan sector, including Reaya and Union.”

"I have hearrrd the same," M'Mira replied, her tail swishing more vigorously and lowly than before. "Perrrhaps it is quiet because Taga is having difficulties convincing Rrreaya and Union?"

“It’s possible, but I intend to find out. I’m hoping to enlist the help of the Romulan Ambassador to find out what they’re planning, unless you already have a plan in place?” The Ambassador asked.

M'Mira had no plan and had not thought about this problem for any length of time; however, she was not about to admit that to Refelian. "I have a plan," she told him confidently. "Howeverrr," she purred, "it might be betterrr if we apprrroached things from each other's sides. Comparrre notes laterrr?" Her tail swished lazily in front of her and then back to the other side.

Refelian stroked his beard in thought before nodding his agreement. “I’m also planning on heading to Raeyan and Union to find out what their stance on this joining together and also investigate what Crystal Fruits were up to there too.”

"I have an investigation going into Crrrystal Frrruits," M'Mira told Refelian. "You can leave that to me. On the otherrr hand, I would be interrrested in the lies that Rrraeyan and Union will have to tell."

Harry nodded his agreement, “Perhaps your intelligence officer could accompany us when we head to Raeyan and Union? Do some digging first hand, I can add them to the diplomatic party.”

"I will take that into considerrration." M'Mira's tail swished angrily on a diagonal downstroke. One minute he says he's not going to take over and the next he starts preparing anything. Typical. Same thing he did to Mint. "In the meantime, I am expecting a grrreat deal of new arrrrrrivals. Perrrhaps we can talk more laterrrr."

The newly appointed Ambassador smiled, “Of course, I’m taking up to much of your time. I’ll be at the embassy should you need me. It’s good to see you again, Commander, and it’ll be a privilege to work with you once more.”

Suck up. I still don't forgive you. She continued smiling at Refelian, her tail thrashing once again. "Thank you forrr letting me know wherrre you will be. I am surrre we will meet again soon enough."

Refelian nodded, “Until the next time, Commander.” He said before turning and walked out of M’Mira’s lounge.
