Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Location: Romulan Embassy Building Site
Timeline: MD05 - 0900

As Captain Refelian had already informed his Chief Operations Officer to get in contact after the return from Faltan City, it was not that much of a problem to obtain an appointment. Meeting the senior officer was important to Nevala to finish her planning of the embassy. And where best could they meet than at the building site?

Nevala thanked herself that she had taken the time to find out which species M'Mira was, otherwise the appearance of a feline person would have gotten her totally off. Still, she could not completely hide her curiosity and she looked maybe a little bit closer than usual at the facial details of the Caitan before she approached her. "Lieutenant Commander M'Mira, I presume?"

The Commander wiggled her facial features slightly, as if trying to reach an inch that she could not quite shake. She inspected the Romulan and wondered why she was here. The station was still in a state of disarray. Were they even expecting visitors? As the second officer, she would have thought that she should have been informed. She made a mental note to discuss this breach of protocol with the Captain. "Yes," she answered cautiously and curiously. "And you are...?"

"Nevala e-T'Daran thu'Sterion, Duchess of Cheleb-Khor, the ambassador's wife," Nevala replied and extended her hand, smiling, "But Lady Nevala is sufficient for most occasions, and in less official meetings Nevala will do. A pleasure to meet you."

M'Mira inspected the Duchess up and down. She dressed very well but no Romulan could ever compete with the majesty of a Caitian. Besides she was married. Thus, M'Mira concluded, no threat . M'Mira's paw took Nevala's hand. She retracted her fine red colored nails so that they would not inadvertently scratch the Ambassador's wife. "A pleasurrrre to meet you, as well," M'Mira purred. "And how may I be of assistance, Lady Nevala?" Her head tilted slightly, showing off her green eyes that widened with interest. Can I trust a Romulan?

The way M'Mira pronounced the words was strange and fascinating at the same time. Nevala inclined her head just enough to acknowledge. "Commander, as you are aware there is no Romulan embassy here yet, and I have been tasked with the design of the embassy. I have a general design, but for the details I need to know which resources will be available, such as energy, maybe water, sewer, recycling and so on. Workers are no problem as my husband's ship will stay in orbit until the construction work is completed, I can rely on the crew."

"Just how many of your people are we expecting to be herrre?" M'Mira asked curiously and tilted her head. Her tail swayed from side to side, as if debating what it should think. "That cerrrtainly would help with the design. That being said, perrrrhaps you have hearrrd that the Station was in disarrrray when we arrrived. We are not yet up to complete activation here, so you will have to underrrrstand that yourrr plans may be a bit delayed."

"Fifty to sixty people," Nevala replied, "Which includes everyone living there. The only thing I need to know is which resources will be available for the operation of the embassy once it is finished. Everything concerning architecture and civil engineering will be designed by me personally, and Romulans will build it. We have the crew for that. If the opening gets delayed because you are lacking the crew to connect the embassy to power conduits, recycling tubes and so on, this is acceptable and understandable. Yet, if we can assist you, we are more than willing to do so."

Like hell I'm going to have Romulans learning all the ins and outs of the Station. And why do they need fifty to sixty Romulans here for an embassy? What is in their minds? M'Mira purred, "It is quite kind of you to offerrr your assistance but I assurrre you that we have matters well in hand. And you will not lack for rrresources. I will personally make surrre your powerrrr conduits are morrre than adequately sustain your enerrrgy rrrrequirrrrements." She flicked her left hand claw casually in the air to indicate all problems would be handled.

"Perrrhaps if you show me the schematics, I could make the necessarrrry arrangements sooner ratherrrr than laterrr," M'Mira offered. "It would be easier knowing precisely what you needed."

"Of course," Nevala said and handed M'Mira a PADD. The design showed a building made of mirror glass, with ancient Vulcan style stone colonnades in front at the first deck, ancient Romulan style at the second and modern Romulan style at the third. The remaining two decks were only glass. "As you see, I have planned five decks, with the atrium spanning all of them. Then the usual offices and rooms for services, ballroom, quarters for thirty guards plus their officers, quarters for five attachés plus, if desired, their family, some service personnel and, of course, the penthouse for my husband and me. Oh, and my husbands wants a shield generator to protect the embassy, although I am against it. Please tell me that Faltan Station is shielded well and as the embassy is within the station's defense perimeter, we will be shielded as well."

M'Mira took the PADD and inspected it. No Vulcan envy here. No, not at all.... She trilled and purred looking over the details. Would you do the same for us, were this Romulus? "As you are shielded within our defense perrrimeter, I assurrrre you that you will be as safe as we are." Her tail continued to wag lazily from side to side. "Do you have otherrr concerrrns, Lady Nevala?"

"No, at least not at the moment." At least she had nothing on her mind currently which needed Starfleet support. She smiled a genuine smile. "Thank you so much for your valuable time and support. I really appreciate this. And if you should ever need my support, you are always welcome."

What would be the price of that support, I wonder. M'Mira's tail speed increased with her thoughts. Her green eyes twinkled. "You'rrre welcome, Ambassadorrr. I am cerrrrtain that we will be in touch soon." One day I will get those long naps. One day when I have all of this station's needs completed. Maybe then, I could occasionally prowl about but those Faltans.... Life is not easy.

"Definitely. Commander." Nevala bowed her head.
