[LAST TIME ON PARTY TIME PART 3]

"Well. She's no longer a spook, now she's back in Security." Jason said.

"I hope she's happy, I'm in Security too." Greta said. "I report to a Lieutenant Sidero in the morning."

"With a minor in Operations, if I remember correctly?"

"You do." Greta said. "That was a great idea of Aunt T'Lisa, opens a lot of doors."

"Actually it was her mother's idea, she was Starfleet too." Jason corrected.

"Okay, interesting. So when are you going to get me some punch?"

Jason laughed. "I've missed you."

"That's not answering my question, and I'm not getting any less thirsting, with you flapping your gums."

"One glass of punch, coming right up." Jason said and headed for the table.

[AND NOW FOR THE CONTINUATION]

Aeryn was simply milling around the party, she wasn’t feeling that comfortable which bothered her somewhat, she’d spent so much time hiding away at Telhas’ Ambassadorial home that she’d forgotten how to be comfortable anywhere else. Her hostage ordeal had cost her that comfort and she knew she would have to find it again to work on the station.

Kara was watching Aeryn with curiosity, making a note to talk to her when time allowed. Though right now she was starting to feel tired, she wasn’t sure where exactly Tomer was but she was sure he was probably being kept busy.

As if reading Kara's mind, Tomer gave Kara gentle pokes on each side of her waist from behind her. He hoped that she would jump or squeal. "Miss me?" he asked.

Kara did indeed jump. “Damn right I did” Kara grinned as she turned to face Tomer. “Don’t suppose we’re going to eat anytime soon are we? I’m starving, after all I am eating for two now.”

M'Mira giggled at that. "Well, Auntie M'Mira can't have you starving. I could have the buffet brought out now, if you would like...."

Tomer, on the other hand, told his wife, "Now, now. Let's not tell everyone. Don't want to invite the evil eye, do we?"

“The evil eye?” Kara gave her husband a curious look. “There’s only so long before everyone will know anyway, but for now I’ll keep it between us.”

"Thank you, dear. There are just some traditions that should be observed."

“Then I will observe them” Kara smiled warmly.

Sisi grabbed a cup of the punch and took a sip, before she wrinkled her nose. Lime. Not the only thing in there, but she could definitely taste the harsh bitter-sour flavor that came from the fruit. A million options for citrus, and it was limes. What was wrong with a lemon or an orange? She looked around, trying to figure out where she could discretely ditch her cup so she wasn't stuck carrying around a drink she didn't want all evening.

Connor got to the punch and noticed Sisi scrunching her nose. There was an exotic look to the woman and Connor was not certain he could place it. Wait! Am I staring? Look away! Look away! he cautioned himself. "Um, you're new here," he informed the woman as he avoided looking at her because he was grabbing punch. "Is there something wrong with the punch? I noticed your reaction. Oh, and, by the way, I am Connor."

"Sisi. I'm your new JAG officer." She gave a rueful laugh. "So new I haven't even had a chance to unpack. The captain really expects you to hit the ground running, doesn't she? As for the punch... The only thing wrong with it is that I don't like it, and now I'm stuck with a cup of something I don't want to drink."

Logically, Connor told Sisi, "You do not have to drink it. You could recycle it and replicate something else." He turned around and looked at her, immediately looking over her shoulder after meeting her eyes. "As to the Captain, well, yes, she does. If only she found a new Chief Engineer so I would not have to do the job by myself." He put his hand over his mouth. "Please do not tell anyone I said something like that. It is rather untoward."

“I grew up without replicators,” Sisi said. “You never entirely shake the judgement of the neighbor’s grandma tutting about how you took something and didn’t finish it. As for the rest, don’t worry. Lawyers get confidentiality.”

"No replicators?" Connor asked horrified. "And you survived to tell the tale?"

Sisi stared. "Um, yes. Hence the standing here. Alive."

Theo was milling around, listening to the others speak, when he heard Connor and Sisi talking near the bar venue set up for the promenade party.

He wasn’t drinking. Theo wanted to be clear-headed when meeting his fellow station crewmates.

“Theo here.” He could not help but hear the words ‘Engineering’ and ‘Help.’ He extended his hand with a soft gaze at them both. “Couldn’t help it. I over listen!” He shrugged as he saddled up beside the two, interrupting their casual conversation. “Chief of Ops here.” He pulled out his live Ops Padd. “What can I do for you? What in engineering got you in a tizzy?” Lt. Ashford cocked his head, then helped himself to a few bar nuts, chewing…

Connor looked at the new Chief Operations and answered, "Nothing has Engineering in a state. We are quite organised, just understaffed, like many departments here."

“Good. I can always be called upon to help with Engineering matters if/when you are short-staffed.” Theo offered kindly.

"Thank you. I appreciate the offer. Have you met our new JAG officer? Her name is Sisi," Connor offered.

Sisi looked him up and down, taking in the casual attire and feeling a lot less under dressed herself. She raised a hand in greeting. "Hi, good to meet you."

At that moment, Candy glanced back at Connor, Sisi, and Theo. Her eyes narrowed slightly, as if she was analyzing the situation.

Theo Ashford steps closer, voice low and easy with the calm maturity.

“Hey… Sisi, right? Theo Ashford, Chief of Operations—been looking forward to meeting you.” He shakes her hand casually, yet with a nice, firm grip of respect to the Stations Lieutenant Commander, Staff Judge Advocate.

Sisi took his hand. She looked over his outfit. “Good to meet you. I take you’re as new as I am?”

"New. Maybe." He didn't like that. He cockily replied. "Stealthy experience, yes!"

Brina danced with Nicholas, all the while kind of keeping an eye on Candy. Jack had certainly put her into a situation of keeping an eye on someone who certainly seemed to know what she was doing.

Kaylee had faded away into the background, making her rounds holding in her hand a drink, she only took small sips from. Right now, she didn't quite feel like being sociable,

There were others who had come, and had gone through the security. As what her new position on the station Kaylee did need to get acquainted with them. She even danced with a couple of gentlemen, politely excusing herself after only one dance.

Theo found himself walking through the crowd, listening to the conversations. He took a drink of his beer in his hand. He thought he should carry on with a drink, even if it were to show his face. But he didn't know anyone.

He spotted Kaylee standing off to the side with her drink. "EL-T Ashford. Who might you be?" He gestured casually with his drink.

The woman blinked, her eyes focusing as she had been listening to the varied conversations that carried over the air. When she was spoken to, Kaylee focused on the man.

"I am Lieutenant Kaylee Serra." she responded with a smile.

Before she could say anything more, Kaylee heard a ping from her padd. Pulling it out, she looked at the message, giving a frown. Putting it away, Kaylee gave a regretful look.

"I'm sorry, I need to go take care of something. We can talk later." draining the rest of the contents of her glass, and dabbed her lips. She handed the empty glass to a passing server. Without saying another word, Kaylee made her exit from the party.
