Mission: Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Vrayvale City - Marketplace
Timeline: MD02 - 1100

Nevala sat in a car, an officer of Red Guards sitting just opposite her and a soldier of Red Guards driving it. They were already driving for a while when they finally reached a city. In a crowded street they stopped. "Lady Nevala, we have reached our destination." The officer opened the door and left the car, holding the door open for her.

She hesitated for a moment, causing him to gesture her to get out. Finally she left the car, looking at her surroundings. "This is not Faltan Station."

"No, it isn't," the officer stated.

"And what shall I do here?" Nevala was disappointed. "I thought you bring me back to Faltan Station!"

"Sorry, dear, not our orders." The officer shrugged.

Nevala sighed. "Any idea how I will get there?"

The officer shrugged again. "Call your husband. I'm sure he'll pick you up."

Nevala did not look convinced. "I doubt that I will get an opportunity to call him."

"Get to the police, tell them we dropped you. You'll get your call." The officer grinned.

Nevala still looked skeptical, but she decided to try her luck. At least she was convinced that she could not convince the officer to drive her home. She extended her hand. "Thank you, Sir, for your kindness. I hope the next time we meet the circumstances will be better."

The officer hesitated for a moment before he took her hand. "Thank you. Get home safely. Bye."

She bowed slightly and moved to one of the people who stood there and watched the scene with a mixture of fear and curiosity. "Excuse me, where is the closest police station?" she asked as she heard the car leaving behind her.

"Uhm, follow the street, two streets then to the right for one street, then left again."

"This direction," Nevala pointed at the direction she understood, "passing two streets, then I will enter the third at the right side, then the next one to the left side? Did I understand you correctly?"

"Uhm... yeah."

Somehow Nevala had the feeling that she spoke too courtly for the man. "Thank you," she said and simply tried her luck walking the way. The people looked after her, some with respect, some with curiosity, others with hatred. And they whispered. She felt horribly uncomfortable, but she kept her polite mask. Before she reached the police station, a police car stopped.

"People are saying Red Guards dropped you?" a police officer called out of the car's window.

Nevala approached the car. "Yes. Why?"

"Just my question," the officer replied.

"They held me hostage, now they released me. Can you help me have a call?" she asked as polite as possible.

"Get in," the officer said and pressed the door opener to the back of the car.

Nevala entered the vehicle and within a few minutes they were at the police station. The officer accompanied her into the building, then signaled her to take a seat at a bench while he reported to the police lieutenant. Some minutes later he was back and told her to get into the lieutenant's office.

"Have a seat, please," the lieutenant, a Faltan woman, stated. "Your name, please. And whom I should call."

"Nevala thu'S'Terion, Duchess of Cheleb-Khor," Nevala replied proudly. "And would you be kind enough to call my husband? Telhas thu'S'Terion, Duke of Cheleb-Khor, Ambassador at Faltan Station."

The lieutenant did not seem to be impressed as she wrote everything. "Ambassador of which state?"

It took Nevala a moment to keep her composure. Was that not obvious? "The Romulan Star Empire, of course."

"Sorry, I am not used to foreign species. You all look the same for me." The lieutenant activated her communications station, ignoring Nevala's indignant look. "Connect me with the Romulan Embassy at Faltan station."

A moment later, a female voice could be heard. "This is Lieutenant N'Veyan. You are talking to the Romulan Embassy. How may I assist you?"

"I have a Nee-valla thu-Se-Terion here. She says she is married to your ambassador." The police lieutenant said. There was silence. After a minute, she asked "You're still there?"

"Yes, yes we are still here. You are the police station at which city again?" N'Veyan asked.

"Vrayvale City PD. Can you pick her up, please? The people are getting nervous with foreigners around," the lieutenant said.

"Yeees... yes, yes. Please give us a landing location, we can be there in fifteen minutes. Enough space for a larger shuttle should be provided. Is this possible?"

"Harbor, pier five," the lieutenant growled and terminated the communication. "Are your people always that complicated?"

"Only when an ambassador's wife has been abducted," Nevala replied with a cynical grin.

*** 15 minutes later, Vrayvale City Port, Pier 5 ***

The Vreenak-class shuttle approached with almost supersonic speed before it decelerated and landed gently on the pier. The ramp descended and two Reman guards left the shuttle and secured the area with their rifles at aim. Then Telhas left the shuttle. He saw Nevala and was all smile.

Nevala could not hold back. She ran to Telhas and kissed him passionately, tears in her eyes.

The police lieutenant approached them, but was stopped by the Remans two meters in front of them. "Sorry to interrupt, but flying with more than two hundred miles at low altitude is five thousand credits speeding fine!"

Telhas brushed Nevala gently aside and went to the lieutenant. "Say again."

"Five thousand credits for speeding," the lieutenant said strictly.

"Never heard of diplomatic immunity?" Telhas asked slightly enraged.

The lieutenant grinned. "Only for crimes, not for fines."

Telhas signaled Nevala and the guards to board the shuttle. Calmly, he talked to the police lieutenant. "You know my address. Send me the ticket, it will be paid." He went to the ramp, then he turned around and said "Make ten out of it!" After that he boarded the shuttle, which immediately rose into the air and accelerated to almost supersonic speed.

"Arrogant asshole," the lieutenant muttered and made a note to send a ticket for speeding to the Romulan Embassy. Ten thousand credits.
