Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Diplomatic Hub
Timeline: MD03 - 1400 Hours
Harry stepped out of the new barbers that had opened in the Commerical Hub, feeling nice and refreshed. There was nothing like have your beard trimmed and shaped, along with a good hair cut to make you feel good about yourself. He decided to head to the Diplomatic Hub to do a final check. It wasn’t really a check more like a little nose at how the room was looking for the evenings ceremony.
He was pleasantly surprised as he walked in and looked around.
Glancing over from where she was hanging up a blue and silver decoration, Catrina caught sight of the Captain. She was curious what he was doing there, but figured it was just to see how things were going. “Does it looks straight from where you are standing, Captain?”
"Looks straight to me," Mint called as she walked up beside Harry, having had the same idea to check on how the decorating was going when she had a free moment. She smiled and gave a nod. "You're doing great, Tendai," she have an approving nod. "The colours look better than I'd envisioned earlier!"
Hearing Mint, Cat smirked and climbed down off the ladder. “Well, I appreciate the help picking the colors this morning,” she stated, walking over to the two of them. She didn’t bring up what else they’d talked about, just in case there hadn’t been a discussion yet.
"My pleasure," Mint nodded and looked around a bit more. "I can't wait for the party. It'll be a nice change from the last diplomatic endeavour we attempted. And the crew deserves a bit of fun after all the hard work they've put in."
Harry nodded his approval at what the chief Engineer was doing. “It looks great, good job people.” He said before turning to his first officer. “I agree, hoping things stay quiet so the crew can let their hair down and have a good time once all the pomp and ceremony is out of the way.”
“Thank you both. The crew has worked hard to get all of this done. If things stay quiet, then maybe we can all relax through this and then relax after it as well.” Cat looked around for a moment, “They need to relax, we all do.”
“I’ll give you and your team a few days to relax before you get Luna up and running.” Harry said with a grin. “You know headquarters are going to need those repair facilities up and running.”
Mint shook her head, but smiled. "I should get back to it," she sighed but had a playful pout on her face. Then she turned to Harry. "I have something I need to discuss with you," she wanted to put a hand on his arm, but there were too many people around, so instead she crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a slightly nervous looking smile. "If you're free?"
“I think they will appreciate the time, Captain. Thanks.” Cat’s eyes turned to Mint, hearing what she was saying. Her face gave a look of You haven’t told him yet? but she didn’t say anything out loud.
“No problem, Lieutenant. You and your team have certainly deserved a few days off after dragging the Station back to something that resembled a Starfleet Station plus getting this ready for the ceremony. If I could I’d give you guys a week off.” Harry said with a smile before turning to Mint. “Now?”
Biting her lip, Cat let out a soft sigh. "I um..take it you two need me to give you some space?"
"Whenever you have a moment, Captain," Mint nodded, and gave a nervous look to Cat. "If you're busy, it can wait..."
Catching Mint's look, Cat stayed where she was, glancing between the two. She hoped Mint knew that if she wanted her there when she told Harry, she would be.
“I’m sure I have time to squeeze you in before I go and squeeze myself into my dress uniform.” He said with a chuckle.
Mint smirked and shook her head. "Well then, lets walk and talk?" She smiled to Cat. "See you when the party starts..."
Nodding, Cat gave a small smile. “You can bet on it.” She nodded to Harry. “You too.”
“Sure.” Harry said with a smile. “See you later, Lieutenant.” Harry said to Cat before turning to leave with Mint. “What’s on your mind, Commander?” He asked as they moved out of the banquet hall.
”Finnegan to Refelian and Prescott, please come to the hangar bay... there is an unannounced guest here.”
Mint was just about to open her mouth when their comms went off. "Well, so much for that..." she said with a sigh. They passed some particularly strong flowers and she barely stopped herself from gagging. "I'll... meet you there?" she said when she could feel the bile starting to rise. "Need the bathroom first," she took off before he could respond.
