Mission: Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Bridge, SS Broken Rose

Kristiina Petlota sat in the command seat of the SS Broken Rose. Her left leg hung over the left arm rest as she casually filed her nails with an emery board.

It had been a long dull journey from the Tallonian system where her last job had finished. Two weeks on this ship, just her and it’s 15 crew. Although it was almost only 14 crew a few days ago. Nelax, the ships Bolian Engineer was almost personally ejected into space by Kristiina. He had eaten some cheese that was definitely past it’s best and hadn’t agreed with the Bolian’s digestive system. The smells he was creating almost caused a medical emergency. Kris has learnt her lesson and wouldn’t get cheese again for the food stores.

“We’re coming into the Faltan system, Captain.” The Rose’s Bajoran and former marquis pilot, Izu Arr said from the helm.

“Thank you, Arr. Take us out of warp, half impulse to Faltan Three please.” Kris said without looking up from filing her nails.

“It’ll be nice to finally get some fresh air after a few weeks stuck on here.” Nelax said with a smile.

“Your absolutely right, Nel. Anything would be better than the smell your arse was making the other day. I’m sure I can still smell it.” Izu replied in a firm tone.

“I have no idea what your talking about. I’ve cleaned the air purifiers and recycler several times the air is clean and fresh.” Nel replied with a cheery voice.

“You’ve got to be shitting me! The smell is still lingering! If it wasn’t for the Cap’s perfume we all would have died from the smell!” Izu said angrily.

“Ahhh, thanks.” Kristiina said sarcastically, before turning to her Reman security officer. “Rakrax, go and fetch our guest, would you? He’ll probably want to see what his dull new home looks like.”

Rakrax just scolded the Captain with a look before turning and headed off the bridge.

“He’s such a good lad.” She said to herself, watching him leave.

“I still can’t believe you took a Starfleet passenger.” The Suliban Operations Officer, Dilig, said.

“Dilig, sometimes in business you need to do these things in order to gain more profit. We needed a reason to come to the Raeyan Sector Block, now we have one.” Peltola said.

When Starfleet told Lieutenant Commander William Hunt that he would be transported to his new assignment on this ship he was apprehensive. He had become used to the finer things that came with a career in Starfleet's command track and his previous job in the foreign service. But roughing it on occasion came with the job, and Will brought plenty to read to keep him occupied.

Still, while the crew seemed largely unsavoury, they treated him with respect. He ate meals with them and tried to minimize any burden he imposed. Starfleet was paying them to transport him to Faltan; maybe they were hoping this would not be a one-time deal.

His only concern was the safety of his cat. Even though he kept Liviana in the cabin the entire time, he wasn't certain these crew weren't above breaking into his room to enjoy a live meal.

Rakrax approached the only quarters on the ship which could be considered as guest quarters. He pressed the door chime once and waited.

Will had just finished getting dressed in his new uniform and packing his belongings -- and his cat -- for transport when the door chimed. He went to open the door, and though he was not a short man, he still had to look up to meet the Reman's gaze. "I assume we're here?"

The large Reman shrugged his shoulders, grunted and pointed up signalling he was needed to go to the bridge.

Will gave the man a quick nod and stepped out of his room, leaving his bag and carrier on the bed. He locked the door behind him and walked toward the stairwell up to the bridge deck.

When he arrived, he stepped onto the bridge and smiled to the Captain, giving her a polite nod. "Captain Peltola. I understand you asked to see me?"

Kristiina swung her leg of the arm rest and sat properly. “You are far to cute for me to leave at Faltan. Are you sure you won’t reconsider my offer of staying aboard the Rose.” She said with a sly smile. “I’ll make it worth you while.” He added with a grin.

Will grinned back at her. "Tempting, Captain. But regrettably I must go where I'm assigned. Still, I hope you'll look me up whenever you return to Faltan. My door is always open to you." He gave her a wink.

Petlota raised an eyebrow in true Vulcan fashion. “Don’t make offers you can’t keep or might come back and bite you in that tidy ass of yours.” She said with a smirk before pointing to the view screen. “That pathetic planet coming into view is your new assignment. I hope you are truly happy here.” She lied.

"Well, thank you," Will replied. He sensed that she wasn't sincere, but it didn't really matter. She earned her fare and delivered him where he needed to go. Nothing further was required except politeness. She was pretty, though. "Do you plan to stick around, or is just a stop on the way to somewhere more profitable?"

“I’ll be kicking around for a while. I’m hoping to get some work in the RSB.” Kristiina replied before looking towards Dilig. “Dilig, send a message to Faltan Stations flight control. Inform them that we have the dear Commander here and inform them we’d like permission to land.”

“Yes ma’am.” The Suliban replied as he began working at his console. “Permission granted, they welcome us to Faltan Station and ask that you report to the Security Hub once landed.”

Petlota laughed, “Like that’ll happened.” She said as she stood up. “Izu, begin landing procedures.”

“Understood.” The Bajoran replied.

“Well, Commander Hunt, I hope your journey here has been comfortable. If not, tough shit.” She said with a smirk.

Will couldn't help but laugh. "It was fine, Captain. And seriously, do feel free to look me up later. I'm always interested in spending time in the company of charming women." He gestured to the door. "With your permission, I'll go fetch my belongings and meet you at the hatch?" She had no authority over him, of course, and he didn't know if she cared about protocol, but it very rarely hurt to be polite.

“It’s been a pleasure to carry you, Mister Hunt. My bank balance also appreciated it. I suggest you leave by yourself, been seen with me will only see only ruin your career.” Petlota said.

“Yeah, tell us something we don’t know!” Izu commented from the helm.

“Shut up you moron!” Kristiina said as she threw her emery board at the Bajoran’s head. “However, I will catch up with you for a drink at some point while I’m here.”

“Fair enough, Captain. Until then.” With a polite nod, he left the bridge and returned to his cabin, eager to retrieve his belongings and get off the smelly old ship.
