Mission: Mission 3: Diplomacy, what’s that?
Location: Enroute to Faltan Station

~ USS Ganymede, Enroute to Faltan Station ~

Aeryn emerged from her guest quarters, the Ganymede had been Enroute to Faltan for the past 8 hours and would soon be arriving at Faltan Station just long enough to drop off those going that way before heading onwards. She walked into the crew lounge and ordered herself breakfast before taking a seat near a view of the stars.

Oliver sat in the crew lounge in a seat furthest from the door and windows so he could observe all the people coming and going. Just as he was about to open his Slug-O-Cola he noticed an officer entering the lounge. As she made her way to order her food he quickly checked his pad for the personal listings and entered the officers description. "Lieutenant Commander Aeryn Jameson" appeared on the screen. Oliver placed the cap back on his drink placing it in his bag and proceeded to make his way over to the Commander. "Excuse me I am Lieutenant Radrick Transporter Specialist. I wanted to introduce myself. I hope you don't find it inappropriate for me to address you in this setting." Oliver looked directly at the Commander.

"Not at all Lieutenant" Aeryn motioned to a seat. "Please sit down."

Oliver placed his bag on the floor next to him and took a seat.

Aeryn took a sip of her drink before speaking again. "So are you another transfer to Faltan Station?"

"Yes. I am. I will be reporting to the Chief of operations on arrival of course after checking in with medical. Unless of course there is another course of action you feel I should take. " Oliver was going to ensure he obtained the most effecient way to go about his first trip on the station.

Aeryn smiled. “It sounds like you have it all planned out quite efficiently Lieutenant. Please we’re not on official duty as yet feel free to call me Aeryn. Titles are all very well but there are times when they’re very impersonal.”

"I will make note of that." Oliver stared blankly at Aeryn for a few moments then continued . "Perhaps you could tell me the conditions of the transport systems currently . Of course I have the data reports that where filed but those can often be ....well.... Shined up to reflect a higher standard." he quickly realized that was more of a on duty question. "Or of course we could discuss Dabo if you like I am a very skilled player" he offered an akward smile.

“I commend your dedication to duty Mr Radrick but I’m afraid I can’t tell you about the transporters as neither of us will know until we get to Faltan Station.” Aeryn smiled warmly. “But once we get there, AFTER you’re settled in I’ll expect a report giving me those details. In the meantime we can discuss Dabo if you like or simply talk. Are you from a Starfleet family?”

"A full report will be done Comma...Aeryn." he corrected himself then straighten his uniform. "I do not come from a Starfleet family. My parents operate a Ferengi space station but growing up I got to listen and talk to Starfleet officers that came to the station. I always admired there sense of duty they seemed to show when on the station. Don't get me wrong some officers got out of line but it was always handled professionally by their senior officers." he reached down in to his bag, feeling more comfortable now and took a swig from his Slug-O-Cola.

“A Ferengi space station? That must be an interesting place to run, no doubt the Ferengi keep your parents on their toes!” She grinned.

"The sure did. Although now it's mostly fallen in to shambles since my parents have gotten in to some shady dealings and are no longer backed by the ferengi." he looked away thinking of his parents. "Though it's not my business my duty is to Starfleet." he snaped his posture back in line at the mention of Starfleet. "If theres some thing the ferengi really got me hooked on it's Slug-O-Cola. I have another non-rep bottle if you would like some" he reached for his bag.

“Perhaps another time, thank you. I don’t want to deprive you of your supply.” Aeryn smiled. “I must admit I am partial to Pepsi and Cola from Earth, how does it compare to those? Is it as good?”

"It's far better. It's a smooth slimy drink rather then fizzy like the earth drinks . Plus that soda is horrible ...well horrible for human health any ways . Slug -o-Cola os healthy with it's 43 percent live algee. I'm sorry listen to me talking like I sell it. " The truth was Oliver owned 2 shares of the company which he mostly spent on the supplies and dabo. "Well what do you do for fun" he was beginning to feel really comfortable talking with Aeryn.

"Me?" Aeryn smiled. "Actually I'm impartial to watching movies, playing the odd game of cards every now and then, and I have a penchant for reading books! Not on PADD though, I prefer real books. There's just something about the feel of turning pages."

"I can understand that. I prefer live dabo , the feel of the latinum in your hands is so much better than electronic pad dabo. " Oliver smiled. "Should you ever need any rare books please let me know my Ferengi contacts can find about anything" he finished his drink and placed the empty bottle back into his bag.

"That's very kind of you, thank you" Aeryn smiled as she picked up her glass and finished off her drink. "I guess I'd best get going, I've got a pile of personnel files to read over before we arrive at the station."

"Of course it was nice meeting you" Oliver stood up akwardly and walked away to avoid any chance of a hand shake or akward good bye.

"It was nice meeting you." Aeryn smiled as she watched him go before getting up and heading for her guest quarters.
