Mission: Mission 1: The Return to Faltan
Location: Marine Commanding Officer’s Office
Timeline: MD04 - 1930 Hours

The Major hadn't been on the station long, just a few hours. Enough to get the items he brought with him organized the way he liked them. He was the epitome of a neat freak as well, everything in it's place and presented perfectly. And thankfully, someone had a brain cell that when they realized he was coming, the furniture was appropriately sized, too many times, he's arrived at a new duty station to find that the furniture is midget sized, which although comical in appearance, is moderately annoying. His next stop would be to find the Colonel and make nice as they call it.

The large man wasn't still... familiar with the base, so after a bit of wandering, he did the hard thing for any man to do, ask for directions. He had approached a female Lieutenant, who gave the large green uniformed Major a very nervous look as he approached her, she stood at attention and saluted the Major, she had a slight tremble, apparently he made her nervous. He than snapped to attention, returned the salute and asked her where he might be able to find his destination, his heavily accented voice had an odd way of carrying, even though he tried to moderate it so that it wasn't so loud. She than provided the directions to him, he nodded slightly and stated, "Thank you Lieutenant", before turning on a heel and exiting.

Damon headed towards the marine barracks, in search of Colonel Haversford.
When he reached the gate, he encountered a marine guard. After identifying himself, he was allowed access to the area, and was directed to the Colonel's office.

He entered the outer office, where he found the colonel's aide. "I am Lieutenant Bradley Damon, station chief of security. I'd like to speak to the colonel, please."

The Second Lieutenant looked at the Security Chief then press a Comm button. “A Lieutenant Damon is here to see you, sir. He’s Faltan Stations Chief of Security.”

”Send him in.” Came the Colonel’s voice over the comm.

It took the Major roughly half an hour to arrive at the Marine section, he had made a wrong turn or two, but he made it unscathed. The Marine guard confirmed the Major's credentials and greeted the Major with a salute, which was promptly returned after. He than stated, "Sergeant, where may I find Colonel Haversford?" The Man took a moment and stated, "Straight infront of you, enter that building, take the port side passageway, his aide will be there" He nodded slightly to the Sergeant, "Thank you Sergeant", he proceeded to make his way inside the building. He took the port side passageway and followed it for roughly thirty paces.

“Aye sir.” The aide said. “The Colonel will see you now.” He said to Damon.

As the Major approached, he noticed the aide the Sergeant mentioned. He proceeded to approach the slightly grumpy looking female Lieutenant. She barely noticed the Major until he was within five feet of her, she stood at attention and saluted the Major, the Major returned the gesture and stated, "Carry on Lieutenant, Major Tritter here to see Colonel Haversford" She than stated, "Sir, he is in a meeting with Lieutenant Damon, but I will see when he wants to meet with you"

Damon nodded at the aide, and entered the colonel's office. He stopped just inside the doors, and when the doors closed, he came to attention. "Colonel. Lieutenant Bradley Damon, security chief."

“And What can I do for you, Lieutenant?” Haversford replied not bothering to stand and barely looked at the Chief Security.

"With the captain being injured, Commander M'Mira thought it would be a good idea if your people work with my people increasing security on the station, sir."

A few minutes into the discussion between the Security Chief and the Colonel, the chime went off again, the female Marine's voice carried over with, "Colonel, there is a Major Tritter waiting for you, would you like me to send him in or have him wait until you finish with Lieutenant Damon Sir?"

“Excellent, send him in, Lieutenant.” Haversford said.

The Lieutenant answered with a simple, 'Aye Sir" Her focus than shifted to the Major, she than stated, "Major, the Colonel will see you now" He nodded slightly to her and made his way towards the Colonel's office, once he approached, the doors slid open.

The Major ducked to avoid hitting his head on the bulkhead. Being seven foot tall has advantages and disadvantages, the higher likelihood of hitting one's head is a disadvantage. One inside, he snapped to attention, saluting the Colonel. Than the Major greeted him with the following, 'Sir, Major Tritter reporting as ordered", the man's heavy German accent had an odd way of making him seem angry even if he was not.

“Ah, Major Tritter, this is Lieutenant Damon, Faltan station’s Chief of Security.” The Colonel said by way of introducing them. “I’m guessing you heard about Captain Refelian’s shooting yesterday. Commander’s Prescott and M’Mira have asked for Marine help in guarding the station. Would you be able to help the Lieutenant here?”

The Major nodded slightly towards Lieutenant Damon but his focus remained on the Colonel as he spoke. He than stated, "Yes sir, I have been made aware of the situation. I can help" He was the type who preferred to get right into things, so this is right up his ally.

Damon nodded to the major. "I was hoping, sir, that we could merge teams together....that would give us more coverage."

The Major's focus shifted to the Lieutenant, he than nodded slightly, "If the Colonel is agreeable, we can arrange for extra personnel" The man's heavily accented voice was confident, assertive and slightly gruff sounding as he spoke. He than stated, "Lieutenant, what are the main threat or threats the Station faces?" The Major was a new comer, but what little did most know is that he brought years of experience in this type of situation to the table. He already had begun to strategize a plan internally, but he wasn't going to lead on to it... yet. He had remained silent to allow the Colonel a chance to weigh in, before he got too far ahead of himself.

Damon looked at the Major. "Sir. Starting with the attempt on the captain's life, which I believe didn't happen because he was near what many believed to be the target...I think the captain was the real target. Next, a terrorist attack upon the grounds of the Romulan embassy. Third, I was questioned by one of the planets security people, who asked me, what I considered to be a threat, the placement of our security officers in the main ops room. I gave him false information by inflating the amount of men stationed there."

The Colonel agreed with a nod, “Refelian was likely the target, as was the Romulan embassy. Probing you for information sounds iffy as well.” He looked at the Major, “Thoughts Major?”

The Major took a moment to mull the statement of the Chief of Security over, he than stated, "In regards to the attempt on the Captain's life, with assassins and those types, if they don't kill a target, it's either sloppy tactics or something, or more likely, someone nearby was of enough value to the assassin to not risk harm to that individual. Once you find who they are... They will lead you back to who you seek" He took a moment to pause, before he addressed their next statement, "If someone is asking questions in regards to personnel, it is almost always for no good reason. Avoiding such questions in wise"

His focus than shifted towards the Colonel, he than stated, "Sir, that is likely correct, but that is not going to give us who the assassin is... We need to analyze who was present and see what ties they may have. The probing of information is highly concerning. As a Base, we have more people coming and going than a ship would, it is not something that can be controlled as easily, so we will have to keep an eye out for people asking questions they shouldn't and being in places that they shouldn't" The Major's tone was calm yet confident as he spoke, as this was an area he knew plenty about.

"That's why we are requesting your help. Together, we can guard every entrance and turn away anyone that we feel could be a threat. And the problem with analyzing evidence and witnesses is that the planet's government is not allowing us access to interview anyone, sir."

Tritter nodded slightly and stated, "If the Colonel is agreeable, I will help. I beoieve I can provide the necessary... persuasive skills to get what we need" such was something the Major would definately enjoy.

“Major, help protect the station. Have your men on high alert and well armed.” Haversford said before turning to the Lieutenant. “What’s your plans for protecting the Station?”

Damon looked at Haversford. "Increased security at all vulnerable spots, using mixed teams, who will be well armed. Have rapid response teams standing by as back up. Anyone requesting entrance will be screened and interrogated, sir."

The Major nodded slightly to the Colonel, he replied with "Aye Sir" to the man. He than listened carefully to the Lieutenant, he than stated, "Lieutenanr, an under cover contigent that blends in will be invaluable in this mission. I will form my team and be standing tall in two hours." He scanned between the two, waiting for an objection to his statement.

"Major. I might have to clear that with Commander M'Mira before proceeding, sir."

“I don’t have any objections but let’s ask the Commander.” Haversford said as he tapped a few commands into his desk. A few moments later the Caitian Second Officer appeared on the screen on the Colonel's office wall.

A rather perturbed [see what I did there with that pun?] looking Caitian appeared on the screen. If her eyes were any indication, she had not had what M'Mira would consider enough sleep. "This is Lieutenant Commander M'Mirrra. How can I be of assistance?" she purred.

"Commander. This is Colonel Haversford and Major Tritter." Damon indicated the two men beside him. "The colonel would like to discuss something with you." Damon stepped back.

A colonel? That's the equivalent of a Captain. Wonderful, she thought sarcastically. As if I didn't have enough trouble already. The Caitian replied simply, "Well, I suppose that he should tell me, then."

“Commander, your Chief of Security and my Marine Battalion Commander would like permission to have mixed Security and Marine teams, heavily armed, posted at vulnerable points around the station, as well as having undercover people dotted around.” Haversford explained.

"Commander." Damon added. "I have to agree with the colonel and the major that we need to go to this level of security."

M'Mira sighed. Of course you would. You also wanted to go in armed and look at every house without jurisdiction. Just you recommending something makes me want to reject it. "Why is it that you believe that ourrr shields are insufficient?" M'Mira finally asked.

“They believe the Faltan’s pose a significant risk to warrant this. I have to agree with them, Commander. However this is a Starfleet installation so it’s your call.” Haversford replied.

"I will prrresent the proposal to Commander Mi...." Before M'Mira could say "Mint," she corrected herself, "Prrrescott. However, at the moment, she is indisposed."

“I’m sure the Commander would agree with the extra security, even if it’s only for a few days.” Haversford said, pushing the Caitian for a decision.

Stubbornly, M’Mira refused to decide. “You may be cerrrtain but I am not. I am cerrrtain that the station will be fine for the time it takes me to inquirrre.”

The Colonel sighed impatiently, “Have at it then, get back to me once you’ve inquired.” James said before closing the comm channel. He then looked at Major Tritter and Lieutenant Damon. “Start making preparations to get this underway. I’m sure the Commander will approve the request.”

The indecision of the Caitain was something that bothered the Major, but he shifted his focus back towards the Colonel and gave him a slight nod, followed by "Aye Sir" He than turned to the Lieutenant "I will meet you back at Security in two hours with my team Lieutenant" The Major waited slightly less than patiently for a reply, the lack of... promptness was driving him bonkers.

Damon nodded, "Aye sir."

After a short delay, M'Mira came back on the comm. "I have spoken with the Commanderrr. She agrees to the prrroposal."

Haversford smiled, he knew the Commander would agree. “Excellent, thank you very much, Commander.” He replied before looking at the Major and Lieutenant, “There’s you’re green light, gentleman. Run your final plan by me before implementing it, Understood?”

"Yes colonel." Damon looked at the major.

M'Mira smiled and her whiskers twitched as she delivered the caveat, "Just rememberrr, Colonel, you do not get the final say on the placement of such trrroops. That is in the Commanderrr's hands, perrrr yourrr agrrreement."

Haversford sighed, “Very well, inform me of your final deployments and I’ll run it past the Commander.” He really want to give the Caitian a piece of his mind but it would only escalate further and neither of them needed the extra stress at the moment.

The Major shifted his focus towards the Colonel, he nodded slightly, replying with a simple "Aye Sir" before the large shifted his focus towards the Lieutenant, "I will meet you in Main Security in two hours, if that is agreeable Lieutenant" The man spoke with a heavy German accent.

"That's fine, sir. I'll see you there." He thought he should report to the commander before the meeting with the major. "If you'll excuse me." He started towards the door.
