Mission 2: Into The Breach
Location: Briefing Room, Command Hub
Timeline: MD01 - 1000 Hours
After those who had got a drink had return to their seats Captain Refelian continued the briefing.
“Ok, the main reason I called this meeting was to give everyone assignments for the up coming ‘Grand Opening’ of Faltan Station. We’re going to have plenty of arrivals over the next couple of days, plenty of VIPs and dignitaries. We’re going to need to keep Security as tight as we can make it, especially with the Faltan threat.” The Captain said as he looked in the direction of Masters, Tritter and Braddock.
“Gentleman, I have your assignments for the next few days.” He said as he passed a padd to each of them. “Lieutenant Masters, you’ll be in charge on Security within the Station. Try not to alarm people but make sure everyone coming in to the Station is searched and scanned.
Jonah nodded. "Passive weapons and incendiary device scans can be done on an individual basis at any entry point, sir. Lieutenant Tendai and I can set parameters at any entrance or exit being used by guests and staff. I would suggest containing the 'Grand Opening' to the Administrative hub, if possible. It will allow us to concentrate our security personnel there without being spread too thin. Besides, there's no need for anyone to be poking around in our other buildings anyway."
Jonah paused. "Considering previous events in Faltan City, sir, I'd like to clear any non-essential personnel from surrounding buildings and secure them as well. I'll also be assessing points from which snipers can cover all exits in the event we do have any incidence. Whomever was responsible for Faltan City's events will not be getting a second chance on Faltan Station, sir. With your permission, all leave time will be cancelled leading to and the night of the party. I'll make all personnel available to 'attend'."
The Captain listened to his Security Chief's suggestions. “Secure the buildings, but don’t clear them. I don’t want to cause a mass panic which could be exploited. I agree all leave time should be suspended until after the event. Speak with Major Tritter about snipers, I have no problem with their deployment as long as they are out of sight.”
Jonah nodded, making notes on his PaDD. "Of course, sir." Looking to the marine, he nodded.
“Major Tritter, you and your men are to keep the grounds and perimeter secure. I want patrols all day and all night. Regular building checks.
“Major Braddock, I want a permanent presence in the sky doing patrols and standby craft ready incase of an emergency.” Refelian said.
Sam nodded. “I’ll update the rotations immediately, sir. With your permission, I’d like to temporarily absorb the Fleet transport shuttles under my command in case we need them for contingency operations.” He said quickly.
“Agreed, Major.” The Station Commander said with a nod.
The Major simply nodded slighty and replied with an "Aye sir", his marching orderd were simple enough.
“Commander M’Mira, I want you to meet and greet arriving guests and direct them to their accommodation and answer any questions they might have.”
"It would be my pleasurrre, Captain. May I ask whetherrr therrrre arrrre people that we should keep distant frrrom one anotherrrr? Any conflicts that I should be awarrrre of?" M'Mira seemed perfectly pleased to be acting in the role of hostess.
“Common sense is all that is needed. We’ve got Klingon’s arriving so don’t put them near the Romulans.” Refelian said with a smirk.
Did the Captain think that seating arrangement and accommodations were so simple? Did he not know how to perfectly arrange a party? Well, M'Mira knew how to make this work and she would worry for the Captain. She took out a PADD and started making notes of the guest lists and sorting out accommodations in the most efficient and positive manner, occasionally jostling Mint with her excited and exaggerated movements.
Mint felt herself being jostled and normally would have been fine with it, but today she didn't feel the greatest and tossed a glare at M'Mira. She moved over as best she could without finding a new place to sit, and tried to avoid the elbows being thrown her way.
“Lieutenant Tendai, there’s a stage and podium which needs to be erected. Here are the details.” The Captain said passing her a PADD.
Catrina took the PADD that was sent her way and looked it over briefly before looking back to the Captain. "Not a problem, sir."
“Doctor Rai’z, I’d like you to be scanning the Station constantly, incase their is a biological attack against the Station. I know this may seem extreme but I want to be ready just incase.”
"Of course, Sir. I understand," replied Mika. Knowing they would need to work together for recalibrating and reallocating decisions, his eyes had gone briefly over to the Ops Chief.
Refelian turned to his Chief Medical Officer, “Doctor Aereen, I want Medical to be on standby while this is going on. Everyone with some first aid or medical training should be brought in and given a refresher.
"Aye Sir. We're still a bit short handed. About a dozen of my staff have been diverted to another assignments on route here." The Doctor said, "But we'll make it work."
“Colonel St Clair, I’d like you to cross reference all visiting civilians with the criminal database. Anything to do with extreme violence or terrorism, Lieutenant Masters should be informed immediately.”
"Yes Captain." The Lawyer replied.
“Commander Prescott, I want you to coordinate the incoming and outgoing system traffic. Flight Operations is a little short staffed and I don’t want it to be a free for all. Limited amount of ships in orbit, they’re only to use designated transport sites to beam down. Let all traffic know of the Security procedures before they transport down. If they don’t like it they get sent on there way.”
"Yes, sir," Mint gave Refelian a nod. "Should be easy enough," she added before taking a sip of her coffee.
“Excellent, any further questions?” The Captain asked as he looked around the room.
Mint shook her head, she knew what she had to complete, which was pretty straight forward. Helping flight control wasn't really her forte, but she would do what she could to assist.
“Very well then, is there anything else to add from anyone?” The Captain asked opening the room to his Senior Officers.
Cat looked up from the PADD she'd been given and shook her head. "Nothing else from me, Captain."
"Nothing from me, either," Mika said.
